If you don't mind waiting, my printer crapped the bed and I just finalized replacement parts but they are coming from China. Chinese New Year is tomorrow, I doubt I'll get the parts for a month.

Yep, plus you have to drill four big-ass holes in the body of the truck. No thanks.

What do you think caused the post to come loose? Now im worried. Was on a previous wiring thread with you, i tried the post but because it was always hot I decided on the pictured approach instead. You think toyota would ever try and blame me for this pass side fuse setup? Top wire is raptor lights (includes existing bottom fuse), bottom is going light bar (unused fuse). Both only turn on with ignition

I used the lug on my Diode Dynamics lightbar on both my current 2024 1794 Limited Edition as well as my previous 2023 1794 with no issues.

I can see the benefit of running it off the battery but I had no qualms using the lug.

I tapped into an underhood fuse, one that was not being used for anything according to the schematic. I made sure that only one fuse was installed and it was for what I was powering only, no need to install the second fuse since there was nothing stock being powered. https://www.tundras.com/threads/1794-le-mod-diary.150206/

After careful consideration and research, I've decided I am going to mount the original included lightbar relay under the rear seat in the battery box. This way, I can connect 12V+ power and ground from the relay directly to the battery with short leads. I can run the three switch wires from the relay under the door sill trim to the dash switch. Then I'll just need to run one 12V+ off the relay through the firewall and out to the lightbar. I will ground the lightbar to the body under the hood.

Is my logic sound? I'm just trying to avoid running a bunch of wires through the firewall. If I mount the relay under the hood, I'd have to run five wires through the firewall (three for the switch and two for the battery connections). My plan only requires the one wire.

Only downside I can think of is I may hear the relay clicking when I turn the light on/off.

Makes sense...I think you're overthinking it for a simple light bar install.

Yea, I tend to overthink things but I'm a "do it once and correctly" kind of guy.

Not sure. I'm not sure if the light bar had anything to do with it. They didn't go into detail, but spent months trying to figure out why my truck wouldn't run. Long story short Toyota Canada was trying to blame it on the bars, but again, luckily I had them disconnected between the first time the first time it failed and the next time it failed.

I think if Toyota can make any link from what the issue is to that, they'll try.

Well, went ahead and wired up a Garmin PowerSwitch to the fuse box post today. No issues currently, but have only wired up some ditch lights so far.

Are the add a fuse taps directional? I see you have them led off in opposite directions, thought they had a hot side and then wire lead side so current goes through the fuse?

Working fine. Still waiting for my diode dynamics ditch lights to arrive, so just have the rock lights currently. I have it mounted to the plastic fender liner near the fuse box. I’ll post a pic this weekend if I remember.

I have installed it. Great kit - very high quality and well thought out. Currently making a mount to attach a power switch, ecoflow alternator charger, fuse, and bus bar to the front of it.

I still need to clean up some wiring, but added some ditch lights today. I have the garmin powered from the post and grounded at the factory ground point right there and added a bus bar grounded to the body at an unused bolt hole. I only plan on adding lights to this garmin, so hopefully no issues. Gonna try and run a trigger next weekend from the ignition fuse.

Added a trigger wire from the 5amp ignition fuse to the garmin today. So far, no issues running power of the fuse box lug

I'll see if I can find the file, my printer crapped the bed a few weeks after printing that, the replacement they sent never worked either so I'm waiting on my 3rd machine. At the time I had pretty crappy internet and it was quicker to store the file using a thumb drive than transfering to via wifi to the machine. Now that you're asking I hope I didn't send that thumbdrive back with the machine, I haven't seen it in months. I'll look for it and if I find it I'll share it with you.

I ended up getting a roll of 2-12 AWG marine grade wire, and some longer 7 AWG battery cables. Looks clean enough, just need to tie up the slack.IMG_0143.jpg IMG_0144.jpg IMG_0138.jpg IMG_0142.jpg
