Only happens when throttle plate closes.
Otherwise you will have compressor surge.

I’m just running the TRD air filters. They increased the turbo noise a noticeable amount without being annoying.

Guy at work has a ecoboost f150 and has some wastegate. Makes me wanna get one. Then drive the roads where hookers hang out and say psss all around town.

Wastegate is in the exhaust, this is on the charge pipe, pressure section.

Two different things. Wastegate controls boost with reference to MAP and MAF sensors, along with throttle position and load calculations.

Recirc/diverter valve, dumps metered pressurized air back into the charge pipe system to keep from screwing up fuel trims.

In a way it is a waste type valve. I just couldn't remember the BOV name!!!

Agreed, Turbosmart is top notch. Had one on my old Mazdaspeed3.

As you can see here, when 4 and d Open they allow exhaust (d) to bypass the turbo straight to the Cat and on the compressor side (4) to go back around to the intake.
