Finally sorted out where to store the awning. Bought these shelf hangers off Amazon. Had to bend them in the vice to improve the level when installed.
    IMG_6402.jpg

Drilled some holes and attached them to the bolts that hold the Ironman 4x4 quick release awning mounts on. But probably should reconfigure this to where the awning shelf brackets are flush instead of backed again the nut of the quick release bracket.

    IMG_6403.jpg

For now using some old bungie cords to hold the awning in place.

    IMG_6404.jpg

So far so good and we will see how it holds up. Happy to have the awning up and out of the way.

    IMG_6401.jpg

Really have to get that insulation completed. Been lazy.

Ok well the OCD got the best of me. Reconfigured the mount. Feel it’s a lot stronger this way. But will now need to shorten the bungies or find another way to secure it.

Nice, i like the idea of keeping the awning out of the weather and theft prevention as well. i will steal this idea when/if we get an awning.

For sure. The sun destroys those things if left out all the time. And it’s more low key this way. I’m in the woods a lot so the awning only really gets used if the weather is bad. So it’s nice to have the option to pop it on or off fairly quickly.

Thanks man, I used to. Then it got too expensive lol. So i switched to 7.62. Which also got expensive. So I stick to 5.56 for the most part now.

I love my Fiskars. How do you like that saw? I've never used a battery powered saw. I have a Stihl MS170 that I love but its loud to take out in the woods on trips.

I have two awnings. One mounted on each side of my rack. Outer material is totally waterproof. OVS and the other is Reign Outdoor.

I love my 300blk subsonic for 100-150yrd stuff but it is expensive as hell to shoot. My kids burnt through 400 rounds last time I had them out and I said F that.

my new most favorite gun is the 10/22 8.5” with a deadair mask. I can shoot that thing all day. It’s so much fun.

It’s been a great saw. I keep it in the truck full time. Only need to keep bar oil with it of course so no gas fumes in the truck. Got it specifically for camping and its low noise level. You can have a conversation while using it.
Cuts very well if I do my part and keep the blade sharpened. The battery is supposed to last a hundred cuts before needing recharged. I’ve never ran the battery out so have not personally tested that.
Overall it’s a badass little saw. It does not replace a gas saw for real work, but works great for camping or clearing a fallen tree on a forest service road.

Yup same! That ballistics on 300blk especially out of a short barrel and suppressed are amazing. They're great for coyotes and hogs. My 10/22 is one of my favorite guns. I have some steel set up in the woods that i shoot from my deck with the 22. I've been meaning to get a can for it. That sounds like a ton of fun. I've wanted to do a shorty with a PMACA chassis.

That's awesome. I didn't expect the battery life to be that good. Sounds like the perfect use for it. I'll have to consider picking one up. I try to be as quiet as possible when we camp so sounds more my speed.

Purchased an Ironman 4x4 PRO suspension kit probably well over two years ago at this point. During this time period Ironman 4x4 informed me that there was a recall on the upper control arm bushings. So I sent the set I had back to them and they sent me a new set with updated UCA's. This was back in January of '24. Two weeks ago I Packed up the kit and drove down to FLA to a friends house that has a lift. We get the back done in about two hours and start on the front. Get the drivers side UCA off, crack open the PRO UCA box and uh oh! The PRO UCA's are for a 4Runner! My fault for not checking!

Instantly get on the phone with Ironman and informed Bubba about what happened. I informed him that I was out of state putting the lift on and asked about express shipping on the correct arms. I started to freak out a little when he informed me that they do not do express shipping and that he needed to ask about what to do about this since I received the UCA's back in January. Then he informed me that it is ok to install the suspension with the stock UCA's. Thank you!!

Later that day I received an email from Bubba telling me that they are sending me a shipping label so I can send the wrong arms back to them when I get home. He also said, since I will likely have to pay to get the new arms on, they are willing to give me $450 towards that installation and of course another alignment. Pretty dam good customer service IMO!!

So we get the fronts installed with the stock arms and get it to the alignment shop. They were very busy and had the truck for a day and a half. Went to get the truck and they said "we have a serious safety issue". The passenger side tie rod end was only into the tie rod about 5/8 to 3/4 of an inch. Not good. After lots of phone calls to Ironman and everywhere else, no one has ever heard of this being an issue on 3.5" lifts with stock UCA's. But never the less we have the issue. Ended up at a Toyota dealer and ordered another tie rod lock nut. Installed that and welded the nut to the control arm, instant fix LOL. It is what it is until I can get the right UCA's on. So here are before and after pics. I have the HD kit. It rides like a truck but is a massive improvement over the clapped out 5 year old stock suspension.

When I sold mine it was for the purpose of getting into a 2020 or 2021 with low miles.

I did not realize until after i sold my 2018 that none existed due to the New generation DILEMNA/DISFUNCTION.

Toyota could of saved millions had they called us when they were making changes.

I came late-to-dinner and did not realize until all the low mileage pre-22s were all snatched up.

I was never sentimental over the loss of a vehicle until now (except when i sold my 1970 GTO)

Will Toyota do the right thing and revamp these new Gen Tundras???
