No clue! But I'd err on the side of caution. I'm curious what the difference is now. If you flip back to the earlier pages of this thread to look at that bolt part number, you'll see another member who had issues with that bolt being too skinny, so clearly there's something going on with bolt hole sizes ...

@__YG__ if you order the part numbers that seem to match your truck please post pictures of the parts, as well as the part numbers indicated on the box/bag and see if they are the same.

It's also curious because, unless something is wrong in the documentation, I had the numbers taken from the recall doc as:
    • Late '04 - '06
    • Early '02 - '03
    • Early '01 - '02
If those years are accurate, then '04+ has to be the same joint, I think? Unless they're custom-boxing things based on the VIN at McGeorge? That'd be wild.

If those year ranges are wrong, I need to update my reply on the 1st page. I did just put a big disclaimer in my 1st reply on this thread to urge folks to look up their part numbers directly.

So if I understand correctly, my truck has the same ball joints as the 04 since its an early 05?

That's what I'm thinking. I'd need to run an '04 truck's VIN thru EPC to say with 110% certainy, "yep!"

I cant seem to find the part numbers you sent, I wonder if these are what Im looking for, LH 43340-39595 & RH 43330-39825 ?
When you look up the part numbers I just mentioned on autoparts.toyota.com the other part numbers are listed as previous versions.

    what are your thoughts?

The part numbers in the picture you quoted, those are what the EPC-DATA site gives me when directly inputting your specific VIN, 2005 AC in V8/4WD.

But the parts Bubba is showing pics of, those are identical to what I ordered for my '06 AC in V8/4WD.

Which is correct, the one EPC data gives for your truck, or what Bubba ordered for his '04 and I ordered for my '06? Not sure, but you can always check compatibility in the Toyota Parts system by giving your VIN and noting what Toyota says is compatible. Unfortunately ... see the result of that below.

I would find it VERY strange Toyota would list a recall kit for '04-'06 truck year range specifically, but somehow have different LBJ part numbers for the three of our trucks... Just sayin'.

But really. You have four part numbers - the ones Bubba and I used, and the ones EPC spit out for your VIN - use the links in this reply to load up one of the part numbers Bubba and I used, then click the "ENTER YOUR VIN" to check compatibility. Is it compatible with your VIN in their system?

    upload_2025-3-25_17-34-19.png
When I did it using your VIN, this is what I saw...

(But I saw the same with the EPC part numbers too!!! It makes no sense!)

    Im beyond confused lol

This is what I was referring to though
The parts I was searching for are listed as previous versions under this part. But when I put in my VIN it also says may not fit, although Im not sure how accurate that is.

That's typical. Toyota changes part numbers, i.e. supercessions (or whatever they call it). But I don't see our '06 part numbers in the supercession list.

The part number at the top is the one bubba used (39595) and the previous versions list the ones you picked out with my vin 39515, 39575

might be the correct part still not sure though…

Ah. Well. That would explain it then

Yeah, this solves the riddle. I didn't look at the supercessions to realize they were the same part, but one is a future revision. Looks like they were jumping up by 20s on the last three digits of part numbers

    i.e. 495 + 20 = 515, 515 +20 +20 +20 = 575, 575 + 20 = 595.

    Ah true didnt catch that.

So in conclusion we thinking LH 43340-39595, RH 43330-39825, Bolt 90080-10066 are the correct ones?
Is that the bolt you used as well @BubbaW ?

    Update:
Got the parts and went to install one of the ball joints today, Bolts do not fit...
From what I can find online it seems like those are the ones that should fit, they are however too small.

Re-used the old bolts for now would like to figure out the correct bolts and switch those out tho... any other suggestions where I can look up part numbers?
I remember reading something somewhere about someone else on the forum having issues with the bolt sizing, cant find it though.

@BubbaW are you sure you ordered small bolts previously for your 04?

Couldn't find receipt but this is my entry in the Parts ordered spreadsheet I use for Ourisman purchases. Seems I was mistaken earlier and did use the longer bolts, sorry YG.
