I replaced my spark plugs a few months ago. For those that have done theirs, do you go back a few thousand miles later and retighten them? When I took the old ones out about half of them were loose

    Weight reduction, mostly rust.
I love watching anything historical about the railroads. They really built this country, and made so many things possible that never would have happened without them.

    I can't possibly be a midwesterner. :D

The Idaho/Montana/Utah/Wyoming area, maybe Colorado too, are best described (I think) as the Intermountain States. At least when it comes to defining plant habitats, mountain features, and not being part of the Great Plains or coast.

Yes. I should check to see if there are any documentaries for this area. I've just read about it in history books of the area.

Yep. Problem I've found (and maybe others have a solution for this?) is you can't go back & forth. Can't remove one grease tube, half-full, and put in the other just for the poly-bushing lube. So it's two grease guns for 2 types of grease.

I did use a step bit. That was just the pilot hole. All went well till I woke up this morning and saw it rained overnight. It’s been sunny 80* past few days to rain the moment I had holes in my roof.

Well he used to love chasing cats, but at his age and with how bad his eyesight and hearing is. He barely notices her, haha. And when he does, he runs a few steps and stops and shes learning hes not really a threat.

Hopefully they will get to interact at a comfortable level sometime!

Thats a bit murky, but i wouldnt call it milky. Using a knockoff fluid?

i’ve been using peak asian red & it’s got a yellow tinge, but its clear. Been sitting for 3-4 days by now.

I haven’t changed it since the days a mechanic worked on my truck which was years ago. Not sure what fluid he used.

How often should it be replaced?

Timewise, I'm not sure. But the coolant does become acidic / corrosive over time. If it's been a while then I'd probably suggest going ahead and doing a coolant flush.

Every 4 years? 5 years? I’m honestly not sure.

As far as I’m aware, having the correct coolant type, which you likely do, is probably more important.

IIRC Toyota makes red (long life) and pink (super long life) that can both be used, with red as OEM per the manual.

Is there a “how to” thread on a radiator flush here? Didn’t see one when I searched

I figure there’s a bolt I remove, simple enough but is there maybe like a more proper way?… like get every drop out of engine area as well?…

There are other threads here but this is a recent one with some solid advice from folks responding.....Help with Coolant Flush | Toyota Tundra Forum

Personally, for the most part, I follow what Car Care Nut recommends.

    Toyota....
    • Long Life....30K, 3 years
    • Super Long Life....50K, 5 years
Since my 04 uses Super Long LIfe, I use the 5yr mark and when it's timing belt time, it's new radiator and coolant.

I just did mine, I watched a 2nd gen video and it’s basically the same; they only loosened one block drain, saying not much comes out of the other. But doing my water pump, A LOT MORE was still in the oil cooler tube. You could maybe pull the serp belt and get access to the hose clamp on the lower side. I got the weird funnel kit to help burp all the air

nyet. Drain everything, fill with distilled water. Repeat 5-6 times. Save the waste water & dump little bits when you get rain.
