I’ve got an issue I’ve been trying to track down for a while now hoping you guys can help. It started off that after the truck would warm up 20-30min it would stumble and sometimes die at stoplights it always restarted though. I then replaced the fuel filter and then the pump. It didn’t help and in fact on the first test drive after replacing the pump it died and would not restart. For 45min At that point I had it towed to a shop and they said it was likely the throttle body which they cleaned. Didn’t help so I replaced the throttle body with a new one from Toyota. At this point it got worse and would only start briefly and then die but it did start to throw all 9 misfire codes. (No CEL before this) I checked the crank position sensor and I believe it is in spec, replaced the battery, checked compression on one side and it was good and checked fuel pressure at the rail. It eventually threw a maf sensor code so I replaced that and it didn’t help at first but now it is back to where it was runs mostly fine but stumbles going down the road no CEL but hasn’t died yet.

Please, give us the codes man. It's a pretty important piece of troubleshooting info.

When was the last time the timing belt was done?

Did you check to make sure the crank position sensor harness was correctly routed after the last time the belt was changed, so it doesn't get clipped by a pulley or belt?

Did you check the cam position sensor under the driver's side timing cover, and its harness?

Codes 300-309 non of those are currently on after 30min of driving around.

I did the timing belt 5k ago I remember thinking I needed to be carful how I ran that wire. I checked the ohm reading on the crank sensor after reading posts of yours I’ve seen around but I suppose it could still be the issue. I haven’t checked the cam sensor.

Looks like it’s the crank position sensor wire rubbing on the fan pulley. I had the crank and cam sensors confused.

It’s always the last shit that was messed with…

    Occam's razor.

Meanwhile, yeah, that's a known issue. It's in the megathread, including pics to proper routing.

I believe it uses shielded wiring, so proper repair may be a bit tricky depending where the rub is.
