Does anyone know why SET has ZERO Platinums with AVS and Load Leveling?

I want to upgrade my '22 to a '25 and the results of the search criteria go from hundreds (in a 500 mile radius) to zero when I select the AVS and Load Leveling option.

Toyota still indicates this is an option under "Build and Price" but there are zero on any lots within 500 miles from me under "search inventory".

Id guess that it is because most people don't want it. Aside from the added initial cost and complexity, higher cost of future repairs, reported issues with the system and some harsher ride reports, it can be problematic if you like to mod and lift the truck.

Reminds me of when the 4runner KDSS system first came out. After warranty, any issues were very expensive to fix, folks just ripped out the system vs fix it and installed regular springs/shocks.

If you keep the truck stock and use it for towing it a lot could be good for you, but if you mod, lift, offroad....not so much. So I think it is a numbers game- folks would rather spend $ on a different option or do not tow enough to justify buying that option.

I had mentioned issues that I have read about here and elsewhere in above reply in regard as to why there may not be a ton of air ride trucks out there at dealers.

Seemed like ride issues mainly, harsh ride, rear jumpy feeling if not towing, etc. think there was a TSB on AVS at some point. You can research....plenty out there on the web. Perhaps they fixed some of the issues experienced in the early 3rd gen air suspensions... I have no idea.

Thanks. Seems like some bump stop issues early on. Haven't had any issues with my 6/23 build. Best riding truck I've had so far.

Agreed. Adjusted the height in the first month, and since then 3 years of a great ride, zero issues. Towed a 9,600lb trailer and air bags were simply fantastic.

I toggle between comfort, normal, and sport+ suspension settings daily, as road conditions and driving style varies.

Love this feature. Honestly a deal breaker for trading in for a '25 if I can't get it.

I know a guy with the AVS and load leveling system on his Gen 3.

He likes load leveling for towing, but he says the difference in the various suspension modes is so minor, he doesn't think it's worth the additional complexity.

I hope to test his truck on our washboarded dirt roads to see if the AVS makes a difference. My non-AVS 1794 is pretty froggy on the washboard with its 20" wheels and e-rated tires.

    I have a 22 with air.

the air shocks are nearly bottomed out from the factory so that the bump stops nearly hitting the rear axle. It’s a 5 minute adjustment in your driveway to adjust the air level sensor, and it rides like a champ

Just to clarify, theyre not air shocks.

My 22 Platinum with air and avs rides awesome AFTER I adjusted the ride height. Definitely too low straight out of the box but it's all good now. Been 3 years without any issues.

Agreed with @DRP and @Breathing Borla Big difference. Well worth it.

Sometimes I wonder about the guy who knows a guy who says he can't tell the difference ;) Thanks for your contribution!

So back to my original question, and maybe to add some additional clarification:

Is there anyone on here with actual knowledge of:
    1. Why is SET is not ordering AVS and Load Leveling?
      1. Again there are zero in inventory, so "people must not want them" doesn't hold water. There would be some on the lots that couldn't sell, right?
    2. Is SET waiting for some update or evolution of that system?
    3. Will they start ordering them in the future?
Any dealers, admins, or SET people who have reliable insight on the future and availability of AVS and load leveling, please?

    Thanks!

Sorry. Just relating what he told me. He didn't say he "can't tell a difference", just that it was minor and not worth the added expense and complexity. I hope to see for myself soon.

Anyway, I just scrolled thru about 3 dozen Platinums within 500 mile of me in Colorado, and not a single one of them have the Advanced Technology Package that you want. There are several SR5 models with it, though.

I just had the same issue. I live outside of Atlanta and bought one in Arkansas. Gulf States Toyota region has the most out there. The is my second Tundra with AVS and air ride, it’s the only way I personally would buy one.

The SET region is ridiculous. The dealer fees are insane add the port add ons are extreme. Gulf States has a ton of port options as well.

I am asking about the Adaptive Variable Suspension Package with Load Leveling rear suspension.
I'm not sure what the Advanced Technology Package is, but that is not an option on the Platinum.

I don't see a way to filter the search on the Toyota inventory tool for Tundras with AVS. There is nothing in the "package" drop down for that. only way I have ever found one was to look through the details for the most $$ results and see if it has it.

Not sure either but I can tell you it’s been like that for at least 5-6 months. I have searched the same criteria to include “platinum” every week or so and nada.

I'm pretty sure the Advanced Technology Package is the package that includes AVS and load leveling. I could be wrong.

Interesting. I thought you had identified a crucial oversight on my part and helped me solve my problem, but I don't see that reference on the "Build and Price" or the "Search Inventory" pages on the website.

Thanks for the video though. That guy is a character!

Yeah there used to be a drop down under packages for it. First it was called AVS and Load Leveling rear suspension, then it changed to just load leveling suspension, and now it's gone.

That previous post had me hopeful that I was just errantly overlooking the Advanced Package, but I don't see that reference anywhere on the Toyota website.

I'm hoping this thread will get a little more attention and maybe we can get an answer from someone at SET.

    thanks!

I certainly hope they do not discontinue the air suspension with AVS. Fortunately it's still on the web site config options for the Platinum so fingers crossed.

I have a 6.5' '22 with 1.75" front leveling kit and the ReadyLIFT spacer kit for the rear. I haul every day (fully loaded with tools and gear for my business) and also tow (7500 lb tri-toon). Fully automatic, rides like a Cadillac in comfort mode and definitely a noticable difference in normal and sport (depends on road conditions).

Would love to upgrade to a '25 or newer some day but if not available, it's a deal breaker and I'll keep my '22.

FYI, my wife's 2012 GX460 with AVS and air and 200k+ miles has been absolutely trouble free. I think Toyota figured out the issues from the earlier GX470. Don't let the Gen 3 Tundra's simple air sensor mis-adjustment issue (10 min fix with a 10mm wrench) scare you away.

While I've heard good things about the other suspensions, if you tow or haul more than just occasionally, the air/AVS is the ticket.

And I could be wrong, but I think it's standard on the Capstone and if so, that might provide some insight on current/future availability on the Platinums.

Good luck in your search! Hoping (for you and many of us too) that you are successful.

Hey Eddie can you elaborate on this? Adjusting the ride height by a lift or is there another option I may be missing. I’ll say this I feel lucky to have these options on my 23. Certainly wasn’t “looking” for them when I bought but never coming off this truck until the options are offered again.

I believe there's a TSB for this. Certain trucks with load leveling left the factory without the proper rear ride height relative to the bump stops. I think there is an adjuster on each side.

    I'm sure Eddie can elaborate.

Cant speak to your specific area, but I was on a 'wait list' at my dealer for MONTHS before I got my '24 Plat with AVS. My dealer was searching country wide, and found one on the West Coast. They paid to ship it to MN where im at.

I am guessing they dont make many models with AVS, and the ones they do are gobbled up quickly by those people who know what it is and want it.

Just a reminder... the CarGurus site inventory search tool has a check box for "adaptive suspension" under features>more. And it works. I actually found one 2025 platinum in my area with AVS. I honestly don't understand why Toyota can't or won't fix their own inventory search tool.

When I was looking for an early 2024 with AVS, about a year ago, I only found 2 of them for the while west coast/mid west and it was two states away from me. So yes it seems that AVS just aren't being made as many.

Currently got a set of Eibach for my 2022 Tundra and like them a lot without the added complexity of AVS. I wanted avs on my next Tundra but after eibach upgrade I changed my mind and most likely would no longer consider avs.
