Hello everyone! I have an 06 tundra with the 4.0 in it and I was wondering if adding a true dual exhaust ( 2 in 2 out ) would add any mpgs?

You're talking about 1MPG at best, if that. Some say they see 2MPG but it's rare.

4.0 v6? Any change you do to the exhaust pipe will likely lower your mpg. You can add a different muffler if you want to hear it but dont touch the pipe

    Nope.

And neither will adding bullshit gimmicks like K&N's intake system or oiled filters.

At one point, someone posted video links for a YouTube channel where they dyno'd all this stuff out, and the aftermarket "hot air" kits got outperformed by an OEM filter. The only gains (IIRC) were a tiny bump in torque at the low end, but it was such a tiny percentage (like 1-2% or something) that it really isn't worth the sacrifice of the residual oil and gunk buildup you get in your throttle body/intake/engine from using shit products like that.

These trucks get notoriously bad MPG.
These trucks are tweaked and tuned to hit a sweet spot of eeking out every last bit of power and tremendous engine longevity.
If you want to learn about performance mods for that 1GR-FE, I highly recommend you hit this thread on Tundras.com sister site, Tacoma World: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/4-0-v6-performance-mods-1gr-fe.502656/

Maybe they'll have suggestions about legit performance mods for your V6, since it's a shared platform. On our V8s for 1st gen, new headers will get you about the biggest gains. I'm sure there must be something similar for the 1GR-FE in these trucks, but you probably won't find a ton of info here.

Take a minute - read this thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

Just be happy you don't have a timing belt :D

The long tube headers into a single exhaust with a decent muffler sound really nice on the 4.0
