Prep the surface by cleaning, premark the spot with tape making sure it’s flush on all sides. Peel tape about 2-3”, make a bead about 1/4” in channel. Place on rear roof and once you feel it’s all good, peel the rest of the tape and press firm to set and leave for 24 hrs. It’s s solid piece and glad I painted it to match my MGM.

Next is to replace the amber filament bulbs. And then figure what to do with the rear... $$$ < sigh >

Love my truck too, but agreed, it don't take much to put a scratch in there. Even though I use it as a truck and put it to work, I'm like OCD crazy about keeping nice, clean, and in great shape. The next day when i clean it up I find scratches and other shit that I cant even remember what or how it happened.

I put the seats up in the back and that’s where my lab puppy roams. Needless to say it’ll never be the same. I was also curious why the paint messed up with adhesive remover and paper towel despite doing the same thing on my old tacoma. Oh well

I need a little help returned from you guys.

Since there's always lot of people and good info in this thread I'll ask here. I'm putting together a plan for front lighting.

The s8 I use as my highbeam so good there. I'm planning to upgrade fogs to led BD squadron sports in amber wide corner, so good there.

Where I'm stuck is in headlights. I'm debating an expensive retro or 18 leds, or something like a headlight revolution GTR led kit. I'm leaning there because I really only feel the need to upgrade the lows and it's not crazy expensive. It will closely match the BD fogs and lightbar in 5500k with HR GTR at 6k.

What do you guys think since I won't be using much highbeam from heads? Does anybody have the GTR kit from headlight revolution?
Feel free to pm me with any info. Thanks in advance guys.

Yeah it seems both inside and out it don't take much to scratch. I did same, I took a gas station brown paper towel, wet it, and tried to get off some bird shit 1 day. Won't be doing that again since it scratched up with hardly applying any pressure being careful. In and out the truck likes scratching easy for some reason.

Oh trust me Ron I'm now fully aware. It was in a pinch and just wanted to quickly and lightly knock the heavy stuff off. Won't be doing that again. I'll deal with the big globs of white bird shit next time til I can get home and properly clean.
As always lesson learned the hard way.

I think either one is an improvement. I think you may blind people with the GTR LED kit.

I have a retrofit and I love it, but it was a pain to do myself and they can be pricey. If the work is crappy you can have issues down the road.

The 2018 LED's are a great option. Probably not as bright as a retro, but a great quality OEM option that after selling your own headlights isn't too bad. You have enough lights on your truck already that if you need more, you'll get it.

If I didn't already do my retro, I would be buying the 2018 LED's from Roman. They would be my pick for you.
