So i got a little addicted converting as much as I could to LED bulbs on my truck. It took some trial and error for some of the bulbs, and for the others, I knew what works well. I wanted to put together this little library for what I run (LED) in the rear of my 2016 Tundra. So this essentially could be used for 14-up(3rd Gen).

I'm pretty happy with the outcome with all these LED's. All of them are brighter(Day or Night) than the stock halogens they replaced. Since they are LED's they also have the instant ON/OFF that we get with LED lighting.

    • High Mount 3rd Brake Lamp [921] : VLED Red HPColor - These have been discontinued.
    This is the replacement:

    • Rear Tail/Brake [3157CK] : VLED Red Triton V3 - These have been replaced by the Triton V6s:
      • Since this is NOT being used as signal lamps, load resistor is NOT needed.

Taken with some daylight left to show how bright these lights really are

@BlueBottle how are those SiriusLED for the rear signal holding up? Any hyperflash issues? Thanks for posting that list!

They are still working! I ended up getting leds up front so I had to put a resistor for that. But it lasted fine without a resistor when I had the stock bulbs up front.

Recently did a similar upgrade an LOVE them.

VLED 921-6-R for rear turn & 3rd brake light. 3157CK-6-R for brake lights.

Swapped the interior for 6k LEDS and love them too.

I had no hyper flash issues. Even returned the VLR-6 resistors.

    Thanks for the reply!
Im a noob, just beginning in the LED swaps. So as long as the fronts are still stock when I change out the rear blinkers to LED-no resistor is needed. But if I also change out the fronts to LED-then a resistor is needed? Will the resistor then go in the front or back or both?

It doesn’t matter where it goes. Mine is in the front though. If you have leds both front and back you need 6ohm per side.

This is a great thread. I found it by searching for solution to my tail lights being too heavily smoked. However, I'm slightly confused. Everything I found said that a standard brake light is 400 lumens. The VLED V6_KIT_R is listed as 380 lumens.

Edit: After some digging, I see that the V3 claimed "upto 600 lumens of output" whereas the V6 shows 380. It seems as if the V6's are not as bright as the V3's, and are about the same as a normal bulb?

Edit #2 For future searchers: I contacted VLED regarding this. Here is their response:

I have had both the v3 and v6. I’m happy with both. They are both at least twice as bright as the originals but they fill out the housings well.

I just ordered everything to do the conversion, except the cargo lamps as I dont care about those.

Just FYI, but the cargo lamps link takes me to a set of H4 headlights, and the reverse light link takes you to a "not currently available" listing. I ended up ordering what I assume is just the updated part? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MC6RQAM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

well damn. I guess if/when they die on me I'll go with VLED as well. Their customer service seems pretty damn good, and they seem to have extremely fast order processing (I had a shipping notification and tracking number within 30 mins of my order).
