Lol I would love to but oil definitely needs to be changed before that. Never been in Louisiana other than driving through when we went to Arkansas last year. That small part I saw was very beautiful and interesting. Interesting part was I saw a dead alligator on the side of the interstate.i assumed someone ran it over. I told myself this got to be only in Louisiana. Shortly after coming back to ga the small town next to mine had an alligator stopped the whole traffic on I75 lol

Do you have a door for the filter? Longest part of the oil change for me is taking the skid plate on and off.

Haha yeah I'm 155, I can slide right under, it's a little tight but just easier than dragging out the jack and stands. I won't use ramps anymore since I redid my driveway.

Shoooooorter drive. I'm even closer in central Bamaland (Hoover, just south of Bham). Come on by. I've done over two hundred engine oil changes in my garage and driveway.

There's a diagram on the side of the Mama Toyota oil filter box that shows you where to install the O ring. AND shows you where NOT to install it!

Lol yes I wish I was 155. I'm pushing 290 right now. No I don't have a door on skid plate. I need to go ahead and take it off. In the future I'm thinking about investing some after market skid plate to avoid taking it off every time

RCI skid. Get it when they do a 20% off deal, fairly often.

Is one still able to get to the pool drain plug with the RCI skid plate? I see the little door to get to the filter, but not the drain plug :monocle:

Yes, zero access problems. Purpose of the V cut. Now, you may have to remove during your front differential OCI.

Rci does not cover up the drain plug. There’s no need for door.

No door ... stole this picture off the internet.
I also put 1 sheet of pig mat on top of skid plate to catch the drips when removing filter.

That’s what I do too with the motiv x kit. I leave the skid plate on and just get the filter off from the side and attach the drain hose and let it flow. So much easier than removing the annoying black factory plate.

Have a breaker bar ready in case the dealership monkeys overtorqued the filter housing.

I'm 6'2" 285lbs. I can easily fit under my sr5 2wd and change the oil.

And it has enough hose to cut a piece and use on a Fumoto if you get the one with short nipple. I keep large pieces of cardboard in my garage for oil changes. I have 2x6s doubled up that I drive truck onto. The extra 3" works fine for me but also have 2" lift on front. The oil drain is on back of the pan so elevating the front probably helps when draining it.

Good idea. I know the manual on mine says 8.5 quarts but 8 always fills it. And I do replace the filter every time.

That’s how mine is. Many have suspected Toyota started recommending 8.5 whenever they changed the OCI to 10k

Thank you for the info. Right now I'm at 28k and will do rear diff and transfer case drain and fill next.
I'm not much different than you are. I'm 6'3'' 290lbs. When I lay under my truck from whatever side front or side my chest barely clears the bottom and my arms definitely not comfortable to do any kind a work lol.
Definitely who tightened up my filter housing...
I wanna thank you all for all the messages and great knowledges y'all share with me. I did my oil change and everything went smooth until it was time to take filter housing off. With motivex tool and 24'' ratchet and another 18" pipe attached to end of it finally gave up and break lose. I really surprised that they didn't break the housing. Replaced filter and installed it back of course did not torqued that much lol. Drained from filter and pan around 8-8.2 quarts of oil. Installed fumoto valve and add 8.5 quarts of oil. Fired her up and let it run couple minutes. Checked under the truck where valve and filter is. No leak seen. Turned it off and installed skid plate. Found out dealers service tech broke one of those plastic tabs that screws goes into at last oil change. Only 2 screws was there. One of the biggest reason I stopped going there. But finally take her out to drive and parked on a flat ground. Check the dip stick after couple minutes. It was right at the full dot. Everything went pretty good with y'all info. I greatly appreciate it.

Dealership left 1 bolt out of my skid and 1 other was not the original bolt. Gave them a 0 on survey and service manager called me. He ordered 2 new bolts. When I picked up he said "do you want them installed". I said hell no will do it myself.

They didn't called me yet to setup my service appointment. They should call soon. I'm gonna tell them why I quit taking my vehicle to them. Will it change anything? Probably not but at least I feel better about it. I totally understand they rushing this techs or tech just don't care. I wish they just let me know and ordered the part to fix it instead of I found out myself almost 7 months later when I do my own oil change.

I broke a cheap oil filter tool on my wife's VAN the other day, the dealer had done her oil change the last few times. I was forced to leave it at oil change only; I just ordered the Motivx tool and am hoping that and a breaker bar does the job. Amazon has new OEM housings for sale, maybe I order one of those just in case!
