Are 8112 readily stocked with vendors?

Do most people want the 8110 alongside them or do people usually opt for a different rear shock?

Guess I'm gauging potential interest in a lightly used front set + Bilstein UCA...

Yes match them up 8112/8100. I'm using icon billet UCA as I wanted to make sure I have adjustability for alignment.

I'm pretty a used set will be hard to come by. If you talk to @memario1214 he will get you the best price shipped.

Already found the fronts i mentioned, just gauging interest if people mismatch at all / if fronts + UCA would be something people would be interested in.

Oh that's sweet why did they sell them? I believe I seen a thread with someone running a mismatch set just not sure if it will rude the same.

We stock Tundra 8112s/8100s over here at Hotshot Offroad. I think we are one of the few that actively stocks them for now anyway. There haven't been too many produced, and we have been scooping them up since the beginning. :anonymous:

The DSA+ has low speed and high speed damping adjustments as to where the regular 8112 does not. I see you have a Toytec that looks like it's leaking where the shaft goes into the shock body? They are rebuildable but I have not idea what the cost is.

They are rebuildable, it's about $500 but to take them off myself and then wait the 2-3 days to have them rebuilt is a PITA. I could take them to the shop and have them do it but that increases the cost to $1300. Just seems like a good time to upgrade.

Yes a rebuild is expensive considering they are $1400 or so for the pair when new. Mine have about 55K on them and will most likely be coming out soon as well.

Yeah, we've found what most people do (except for the desert runners like @reywcms ) when it comes time to rebuild shocks is that they'll often not have a second vehicle which allows them to be on blocks for the better part of a week. They pick out a new suspension (either replacing or changing altogether) and send in the tired stuff for rebuild then sell it as used. I've also personally made deals with folks on some used stuff where we pen a price that includes rebuild. I send in the stuff to the rebuilder, and have it sent to the new home upon completion.

Ok I need some clarification. I have come across 2 different product SKU's for the B8 8112, they are both listed as left front. SKU 41-326022 and 41-284544

The 544 part number is the old silver shocks. Both are non-adjustable versions, but the 022 is the newest version that is gray and yellow. The 544 has not been in production for 3 years.

Ok, need some advice. Just got a call from toytec. They will rebuild the fronts, put new shocks in the rear. In and out in about a day. The total is about $1500. Or do I ignore the rears and buy some bilstein 8112's for the front and do it myself?

What do you have in the rear now? As far as rebuild, the front coils are like $1400 for the pair. To me it's not worth the cost to rebuild them. The rebuild on those alone is $800 to $1K.

Actually the whole cost is about $1550 for rebuild of front coilovers and brand new rear shocks from the quote I got from toytec. That's way cheaper that just the cost of new bilsteins up front and doing nothing to the rear.

I would steer away from Toytec IMO. They are not what they used to be.
