I have a brand new platinum. Didn’t test drive close enough at 65mph +. Wish I had or would have bought a F150. Luv everything about this truck except annoying wind noise at highway speeds. Sometimes worse than others especially if cross wind or head wind. I’ve tried extra seals, taping off, etc. nothing makes much difference. Door and window feel tight. No rattles. It seems like it’s the aerodynamics between mirror and window. I hesitate to take to dealer. They will just say it’s normal. Well it wasn’t normal for my previous f150. Just feel trapped because I’ve tried so many things. Thought I was buying the toughest truck out there and expected more out of Toyota.

I have a 2022 Limited DC and no door seals. I definitely get wind noise, so I just ordered the seals for my front doors. I'll let you know if they make a difference, if and when they come in. Thanks to all for the part numbers and installation tips!

I received my door seals within a week of ordering through my local Toyota dealer. I followed the installation tips from HLR_NM and it was rather simple. I used the paracord in the top hole to pull the seal up the door frame. I also found I got the most clearance by keeping the door 3/4 open. Took about 15 minutes per side. I haven't had the time yet to do a post road test on the highway but i'm sure it will help.

I have this exact same issue. 24 Limited. Driver side mirror whistles when doing over 50mph. I tried stuffing foam in there but that didn't work. If I apply tape on the seems exactly like your picture it goes away. I dropped it off at Toyota and drove with a service tech guy in the vehicle so he could see exactly what i was talking about. Thats the best way, have the tech ride with you in the vehicle to replicate the issue first hand. If not, they always try and say "they couldn't replicate noise".

They are contacting corporate today if they will approve replacing the mirror completely. I drove another Tundra as a loaner for another issue and that one did not whistle at all. Hopefully they will just replace mirror assembly.

Well I have a 2024 with 3K miles on it. It is so bad that I can’t even stand to drive it on the highway. I took it into the dealership and they replaced the window guide and that did not do the trick. I can tell that it is coming through the door gasket as when I’m driving and I try and pull the door tighter. It completely goes away. It is definitely a door sill thing and I don’t know why they can’t fix it, we spend a lot of money on these trucks

How do you get to drive the truck once you tape the door closed? and we shouldn’t have to do that

In my case it was the passenger side window, so it didn’t prevent me from getting into the drivers seat. If it had been the drivers side door I would have still taped it and simply hopped over the center console from the passenger side. Ultimately, for me, it was the window seal and taping that up doesn’t affect your ability to open the door.

As far as your feeling that “we shouldn’t have to do that,” you do you, my friend. I went back and forth with the dealer a few times without it being resolved. Then I pinpointed the issue myself using the tape so I could show the dealer the exact seal causing the problem and have it fixed.

Posting here won’t get it fixed. If you don’t want to use the tape method described in this thread, then don’t. Nobody is forcing you.

Geez. All I was saying is that I would have a hard time crawling over the console to get into the driver seat being 65 with artificial hips! Not expecting anyone here to fix it for me. I live 2 hours away from the dealership. I’m pretty sure that at least a few people here would agree that we shouldn’t have to troubleshoot an issue like that on an 80K truck.

It definitely sucks, but this is the post Covid quality that every brand seems to suffer from.

Given that you are two hours from the dealer it makes even more sense to locate the exact cause of the problem before taking it in. You could always have a friend or spouse tape the door perimeter after you get in so you don’t have to climb over the center console.

Just picked up a 2024 3 weeks ago, not as bad as TRD Jon’s window but happens when I go over any type of bump big or small. Sounds like the door seal is not tight enough with the frame or it’s too dry and rubbing funny or something. Hard to explain the noise exactly…

    Does it sound like this?

Had my dealer agree to replace the weather stripping after multiple trips (and finally getting a really good service advisor). Didn't help. Actually made it worse. Will be going back in for my 25K service and see what is next.

Sure does! Although not quite as frequent as it sounds in yours. Is that as you go over bumps, or is it like that pretty much always?

My Sierra I traded in had thin metal on the roof and creaked, but this is just as annoying. Seems like it’s something with every manufacturer these days.

it comes and goes but happens every time I drive (not just when I hit a bump). Seems to get worse as the temp drops.

Not to be a downer but I have a 2024 with the front weatherstrip installed. Wind noise coming from top of drivers door is unbearable! I’ve had it in the shop twice. So bad I’m thinking of getting rid of the truck. I really want to like my truck but can’t. I filed a complaint with Corporate and they told D—— Toyota to get it fixed. Service manager told me to bring it back in, but he told me not to get my hopes up because he didn’t think they could fix it

At least they acknowledge there is a problem. Seems odd to me that they can't solve something so simple.

My 2024 has the same problem. Took it to the dealership today for my 5k oil change. The tech said he couldn't hear anything. I told them I'd do a ride along next time I bring it in.

It's totally the door seal not being tight enough against the frame of the truck. I can stick my fingers between the frame and the door and it will stop the noise.

I visited the dealership today My dealer is aware of the issue, and current fix involves adjusting the lock striker plate if the problem is severe enough. However, they did not perform this adjustment on my vehicle because the noise is not as loud compared to others. Some individuals have complained that adjusting the striker makes it difficult to open and doors. Instead, they applied foam adhesive behind the door seal so that it protrudes more. I'll report back to see if that helps, I have some other ideas since that is the current solution for this. The foreman that I talk to also said he used this grease that expands the foam (seal) itself. Honda still makes it Honda 08798-9013 silcone grease. I ordered some off Amazon. I'll try that next.

They did tell me that Toyota is making a new folder mirror assembly to help with wind noise. (I don't have this problem).

Is the grease red ish? They tried this on mine and it’s better but still not acceptable sadly. They did not put the foam stuff in, but ordered new seals for both front doors.

I had my exact truck on a loaner and the house was like non existent comparatively.

My front door seal is already failing at 35k miles :broccoli: I don’t even understand why it would fail this way but I guess ill be seeing the dealer again.

Yup, looks like dry rotting. They're replacing mine but the drivers one is on backorder...wonder if they're re manufacturing them or something.

To provide an update, adding 2"x1" foam adhesive strips behind the door seal has fixed the noise issue. I received the grease in the mail but will hold off on using it for now. The only thing I've noticed is that closing the door requires a little more force due to the tight seal.

Do you have a photo of this? I bought the trim pieces from the OP, but they don't really do jack for the noise. Dealership replaced the door seals too, and that did nothing either.

Hmm my advisor said my seal is already here. My repair order was completed yesterday with parts ordered and I'll be leaving my truck with them on friday for the install. I hope I'm not getting older P/N seals.

Just took mine to the dealer to replace the 2 front door seals and the rear passenger window seal.

the front door seals are trash!! Mine began to get wavy like an S.

dealer replaced them with newer ones that actually look like door seals, thicker rubber
it was under warranty so didn’t cost me $$
so far it has made a huge difference waiting to see if it will last
