Every plumber I got to actually show up said they would not touch a tankless as I was on electric. Now that I am plumbed for gas, I am just working on balancing the books before converting. Electric tankless apparently suck big time...

Took out both trees back to the tree line and leveled the barn area some more... worked the lot for several hours and really learned to appreciate my help who wasnt there today... enough on and off tractor time to drive a man insane..

Just pulled the trigger on a whole house softener/filter system for lime and arsenic. After 19 years the well has moved above safe limits and I have to start treating. That bill is gonna hurt for a while.

 

I am not far behind you. We purchased a super expensive put in and now I am pretty sure I need a softener on top of it... so I am holding some emotions back. But yeah... right there with you

 

Yars I had to replace an entire well system last January and writing that check hurt me physically. New well pump (200ft), booster, 500g tank, whole house filters that back wash themselves, etc. but then no water bills so guess all good haha.

My well is 427 ft deep and rated for 25gpm. I haven’t had to do any maintenance with it for almost 20 years. Thankful I don’t have to do a storage tank and all that crap.

 

Im 30' deep... but yeah, just replaced a shit ton of things because they ran unfiltered high iron into the house for over a year untreated..... so I dont know what half of what you just said is... but I understand the pain.

 

Have them add a prefilter (20” is pretty normal) before the big house filters, you swap the filters every 3-4 months but cost a dollar and catch 99% of the stuff to save the rest of system from wear and tear. Surprisingly large fragments of metal make it into this filter.

 

Jinxed myself. Realized the condenser fan had been running nonstop. Defrost board relay tested bad now. Chasing my tail.

 

I recently stopped using those plastic wrenches, and sprung for the metal versions. Game changer!

I should maybe clarify in case it was missed. “Laying some rod” or “laying some pipe” in my youth was a euphemism for sex.

 

3 new gfci breakers for out standalone hot tub. Bubbler, heater and jets. Poor panel is overloaded for sure but we never use the heavy stuff at the same time (ev charger and tub)

 

Forgot about this one too. The above drop in tub requires a fixed drain in the slab. Guess i missed the mark so i had to use a flex pipe

 

The tub has no overflow? Fixed drain in the slab does not mean surrounded by concrete. I should have a box-out to allow for P-trap swing so it will line up.

 

Does have an overflow, built in like a sink. P trap was in place and the drain kit was installed like in the video. Either the tub specs were off or I screwed up by like half an inch. But I don't have enough wiggle room between the wall and the shower glass to just drop it in at that spot. Either way, it's in and working. Drains just fine and allows for some movement now, in case we bump it.

The way this kit works, everything is installed and your placement better be on point cuz there's no box like in a traditional tub drain on slab. The original tub did have a box, but it was up against the wall on the left...I moved it all to the center of the area since the tub is a center drain now. Had to cut/break concrete, extend the plumbing and put in a new trap.

 

Best laid plans. I would have been chipping concrete. Anything non serviceable has to be glued or soldered, no mechanical joints.

 

Agreed but I'm not redoing it all for that 5in piece of flex pipe. We've had that in other homes under a sink (Previous owner installed) and it was fine. Tub is light enough that if it ever needs servicing, it's not hard at all. Picture might make it seem longer but that's because I was lifting the tub from one side about 6in to get up in there.
