Hello fellow Gen 1 Tundra owners
I just recently purchased a 2005 Tundra in incredible condition. It does have a couple of problems tho. It has a slight transmission fluid leak and I want to check the fluid level and add fluid ,if needed, until I can get it fixed.
Also, the previous owner told me that the clock spring was messed up. I m wondering what that intels and if it's something I can fix on my own

It's my experience that the hardest part of changing a clock spring is when the steering wheel gets stubborn, then you pop it off and it hits you right in the bridge of the nose.

Love the first gen tundras. I’ve had 04 and 06. The 04 transmission was an easy drain and fill but I believe that changed in 05 or 06 to a more sealed transmission.

What part of the country did you find a good truck? 2wd or 4wd? It took forever to find a clean DC 4x4 when my 04 got totaled.

    Good luck and enjoy!
