Hey yall, I have a 2016 limited CM with 130k and the transmission was serviced at 100k at the dealer. So for a few months I've been having issues with my transmission, I can be driving 65-75mph in 6th gear with no issues and when I floor it to pass someone it will down shift to fourth but will not upshift again. I would have no lights on dash at all but the scanner shows p0722 and p2714 codes. I took to a transmission shop and they replaced the Throttle Pressure Control solenoid. It ran good for about an hour then started to do the samething. This time as I was driving and the issues happened, I could clear the codes and the truck would upshift. I told this to the shop and they kept the truck and drove it to replicate the issues and said it needed a trans. I was confused, cause I was sure it was an electric issue but after going back and forth about issues I just said ok. I figured if the whole is switched whatever was wrong would be fixed. So he got a trans from a wrecked 2017 with 96k and put in my truck. Whell after 20 mins the issues came back again, just this time it was p0722 and I had a check engine and traction control lights. I am a lost for what it could be, he is going to take the truck on Thursday and see if anything might be lose. Any and all help is appreciated and TIA.

I'm having a similar dilema, but I have double your mileage. Talked to a couple of local transmission shops and all suggested replacement, since in their experience rebuilding it causes more issues. 1 shop stated I can keep the transmission and I may consider this option. Reading your issues I'm starting to wonder if it's the transmission control unit is the problem and not the transmission itself. Once codes are reset the transmission goes back to normal. If I hit rough roads, I start hetting codes again.

Being the whole transmission was changed out and they said all the wiring goto the transmission was good and intact I don't know.

That code is specifically for the sensor, Id start there. Sensors could have been from the donor truck or maybe they reused yours. Either way, that code that is being thrown is telling you where to look.

I'll ask but I was told it was a complete unit, the only thing they did was change the filter and oil in.

right....but that "new" trans still had almost 100k miles....so sensor could be toast. They definitely didn't put new sensors in a junkyard/salvage transmission before installing it in yours.

Ohh, gotcha. I will definitely bring it up to him Thursday morning when they come to pick it up. Thanks!

I'm having some troubles with P2714 and haven't replaced anything yet. I did have a shop do a drain and refill. Hoping it could be a faulty TCM maybe like others have said. Right now I can clear codes, un-hook the battery for a few mins, or let my truck warm up. It seems so weird that people are replacing solenoids and valve bodies with no change. I hear some getting away just Shudder Fixx. And everyone's symptoms I've seen are always a little different.

Need to read manual for Toyotas description of p0722. It could be irrational output numbers, no output or output numers that are rational but nort what was expected. Ecm takes engine rpm , trans input rpm and factors in the current gear ratio and knows what the trans output speed should be. If it is not a match, something is amiss in the trans. Each of these has different diagnostics, so best to first find out what thing could trigger this in a tundra. Doesn’t matter what the code usually means. Only matters which conditions will cause a tundra to throw that code. Each mfg does this a bit differently.

easy first step is connecting scanner and observing trans output speed while driving. If it ever goes to 0 or bounces around, you know that the sensor is the problem. If it is stable and moves in rythm with the vehicle speed, issues are likely in the trans.
