Home Depot is already running their seasonal tool deals. I think they normally have a lot better deals than Lowes.

This is a great price for someone wanting an impact. It's not Milwaukee, but my Rigid subcompact impact is one of my favorite tools. Hard to argue with a lifetime warranty either.

I know. He's my uncle, love him. But man. Some of the things he does really drives me (and other family members) nuts.

In regards to the 4WD discussion earlier- shifted in and out of 4WD multiple times today at 50mph. Smooth as butter. You can feel when it disengages maybe a tiny little bit, but barely at all. Definitely was shifting too- I could feel that there was slightly more driveline drag.

While installing the bed rail clamps for the Truxedo Truxport tonneau cover, I noticed metal shavings apparently coming from those soft aluminum clamps. The installation guide said to tighten the clamps to 7 lb-ft. After seeing these shavings, I think the threads in the clamps will strip before I reach that spec. I called the manufacturer. They said "Just do it. We'll warranty the clamps if they strip." But I don't want to have wait for new clamps if that happens. Has anyone seen this behavior before? Any suggestions?

That's a great price for that monster impact wrench. My Dad, brother, and I have all switched to the HD Ridgid tools. They are a solid brand, the warranty is great, and we know our stuff is interchangeable when we work on projects together.

If I remember correctly something like 25 states don't have any mandatory breaks for workers over 18.

I believe here in AZ is the same (although most all do), but I thought at least a 30 minute lunch is required everywhere over a certain amount of work hours.

When I did service for the restaurant supply place, I was doing 12s or more everyday with no breaks and eating lunch on the fly to the next call. Then we changed to a new pay/clock in system and it automatically took out a hour for lunch, that only took me a week to figure out; so I’d I’d just come home and clock out a hour later

I remember those days of punching a clock. I certainly don’t miss it.

Even worse when they put an HR person at the door waiting for someone to walk in a minute too late. 3 strikes and you’re out.

Nope Federal law only has stipulations if state law requires one.

It's been awhile since I've had to think about it but I'm pretty sure anything under 20 has to be paid while over that doesn't have to be.

You’d get punished if you stayed late?
My new gig, you put in all your own time, and usually has to be put in early on Thursday, because payroll needs a break…….. so everyone is just faking it on Friday hahaha I love it

It appears that you are correct, here in AZ too. Well, learn you something new every day.

You could stay as late as you want. You’d have to be authorized for overtime if you expected to get paid and then that was only with a supervisor present on the job.

It was just the zero tolerance for late people so everyone came in 1/2 hour early and screwed around till work started.

Yeah OT seems super strict and needs the blessing, or else you get sent home early the next day, I don’t play that shit. So I’ve got to keep that in mind next time they ask

The fab shops i worked at were set up so you could leave 8 hours after you showed up. Scanning your badge unlocked the door. Warehouse work usually had overtime available, but you came in extra early for a few hours. Restraunts were where it was at. Trading shifts to have whatever off time you wanted was the bee's knees.

I'm working with the data crew this week and next. We worked 8 yesterday to catch up a bit so that's 48 hours, and next week we're going to Artesia NM to put in a business system cabinet in a substation. They have us down for 5 days with 5 days per diem at $140 a day. We got an air bnb that works out to $225 per person, and we're only stay mon-wed. We should be done by Thursday, so we'll come home and disappear for Friday. Sometimes this job is a scam.

I've always smeared anti-seize on the threads of my clamps. I don't bother checking the torque on mine.

Very possible they didn't clean the threads after cutting. It may just be shedding remnants from getting dropped in the shaving pile, or they just don't blow out shavings where the clamps were made. :notsure:

I seem to remember a post with step by step instructions for disabling the TPMS system and keeping the light off. I can't seem to find it.

    Anyone have a link?

It involves grounding a wire. Try searching “ground tpms” or “grounding tpms” with the “search in this forum only” box checked here in 1st gen.
