So, I got a 5th "actual" spare for my TRD sport today. Ended up getting the wheel from someone here and bought a factory tire so that I can get it in rotation when I do tire rotates at the house. I did this on my Tacoma and made all tires last a bit longer. I needed a real spare anyways because my that came from factory was for a non-TRD sport package. Only thing is I'm confused on the sensor...

I ended up not getting a new sensor in this one because I was told that it would have to be re-programmed every time a tire that was stored went back on in standard rotation after being stored in the spare spot. Now I don't know if that's true or not.

First question - does anyone have any experience with this and how did you get around the tire pressure sensor reading if there was a sensor in all 5 tires?

Second question - since I didn't get another sensor in this 5th tire, when I rotate it in to drive on it, will my truck throw out all kinds of constant alarms since there isn't a sensor there? Or will it still just read the sensor on the tire that would then be stored as spare at that time??

Thats how searching works it helps you find what you need.....teach a man to fish and well he still doesn't catch any fish but at least he knows its possible to catch said fish...

That exactly what I thought when I originally read this question...why bother to start a new thread and post a question that has already been answered.

Okay thanks guys. We all know the search feature on here isn't the best and I didn't find that post. I'll probably just end up switching the TPMS sensor in the spare to my new 5th wheel setup and relearn to find it.

This needs to be a sticky all in it's own. I bet most people on here don't really know how to search in this depth. Thanks again.

It took some "jerks" to make me realize that if others can figure out how to search for information, I can too.

Its frustrating when the same questions keep getting asked repeatedly, cluttering up the forum and making it harder to find what you need. While some might see this as people being "jerks," I realized I was contributing to the problem of finding information myself. Good old catch 22 right there...

The typical response is "learn to search dummy"...instead I linked a search showing you can find what you're after....

One perspectives is everyone is being mean to me and the other is maybe I'm the problem...fortunately my feelings recovered after people were "jerks" to me and I was also able to stop asking questions that were already answered...

Hope that helps...best of luck fishing...

lol, guess I was “that guy” earlier,
I usually look it up for others in my “spare time” but I was late for a meeting so just made the suggestion that it was out there…
I posted a link to the thread I was referring to. Post#8.
I’m used to crappy forum search engines from many years on Pelican… all in the words chosen and the parameters selected.
This one is actually pretty good compared to others.
