Trying to find a set to toss on my ‘05. I typically do this, but strictly with other Toyota vehicles. These are coming off a ‘23 Bronco. I’m unfamiliar with the specifics of ensuring rim compatibility, so wanted to inquire with more reputable people. These rims are…

    6 lug, 139.7
    Thread pattern M12 x 1.5
I believe the center bore is 96mm

I’ve been utilizing a post on here about what the stock tundra has, and attempting to use the internet to get the specs on the wheels I’m looking at. Any advice or knowledge shared is appreciated. Thanks

No, not without a spacer to run a smaller bore. Tundra bore is ~106mm and too large.

I read my stock ones should have 110. If the center bore is too big they don’t work, but what about too small?

Okay, thank you. So do I need find ones with 106 exactly?

Do most 4Runners, Tacomas, Tundras have the same rim specs? I’ve usually bought and ran a variety of different set ups without any (known) issue

Factory is 106ish. They can be larger and fit over the hub, but not smaller.

Center bore on the wheel can be larger than the bore on truck's hub. If the wheel's bore is smaller than the truck's bore, the wheel won't fit and sit flush against the hub.

Most 6 lug Tundras, 4Runners, and Tacomas have the same ~106mm hub bore, 6x139.7" lug pattern, and M12.x1.50 wheel studs. Stock wheel specs can vary depending on vehicle and trim (diameter, width, offset, etc).

2022+ Tundras and 2024+ Tacoma wheels don't fit on our trucks without custom spacers.

I think everything you need is in the new-owner-info sticky thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/
    • Wheel fitment (backspacing/offset info) ... backspacing/offset plays an important role in whether or not you're gonna rub when choosing larger-than-OEM tires. If you need help with understanding what ballpark you should be aiming in, this is a good thread to read. Gist: The best put year near the fender edge w/o rub on 8½" wide wheel is ~4¾" backspace, at 9" wide ~4.5" backspace. Popular OEM 7½" wide wheels had 5" backspace. You can run oversize 275/70r17 tires on 17x8.5" wheels @ 0 offset (i.e. 4.75" backspace) leveling up front w/minor rub.
    • Wheel fitment (caliper rub): If your truck has larger 13WL calipers, beware of caliper rub! 13WL is std on 2003+
    • Wheel fitment (from other Tundras): 2007-2022 Tundras use 5-lug wheels. In 2023, Tundras started using 6-lug axles again, but the hub bore is smaller (95mm on 3rd gen vs. 106mm on 1st gen), so they technically won't work unless you spend a couple hundo on custom-made spacers.
    • Some other tire size considerations see HERE and more over HERE.
    • Wheel fitment (from other Toyota models): Anything from PRE-2024 Tacomas, 4Runners, Land Cruiser, LX470 and GX models that are 6-lug will typically fit. Someone here is probably running it already, and pics of it are in the OEM wheels thread. Make sure the hub bore is 106.1mm on the donor wheels else you need hubcentric adapters.

Thanks shifty. This also answers my question if that 2022 Tundra spare would work.

Any time you're wondering ... search for a few terms in the new-owner-info/'megathread'. Chances are you'll find it in one of the sections in the 1st reply or two, or find it based on a keyword hit on the 1st page.
