Just had the yellow “ maintenance required “ light come on, I know that’s not the same as “check engine” I’m not due for an oil change for another 700 miles. Is maintenance required just a friendly reminder of various diy wrenching? Also I’ve got a bit of a spongy feel when braking. My last tire rotation, it was noted that my pads are still 30-35%,..maybe I should flush the brake fluid?
2005 Tundra Crew Cab Limited with 150k on the odometer, the timing belt/water pump service was done around 95k right before I bought it.
    Thanks for any advice.

The light is usually mileage based. The spongy brakes need attention. See the above quoted thread to find the proper brake maintenance procedure. Involves a fluid flush by bleeding the lspv and all four corners and adjusting the rear brakes and lspv first.
