Hello! This is my second Tundra, and my first 1st gen. I owned a 2018 for about 6 months, but sold it due to financial reasons (mainly the monthly payment was staggering for a 5 year old 2wd truck), so I got hosed and decided to cut my losses. I'm coming back with a 2005 Limited Double Cab, still 2WD, but it's a work truck. However, that does not mean I want to pull up to a job in a shit box. No sir!

I recently cleared my garage as I pulled the engine from a 2010 Kia Forte and went through EVERYTHING! I wanted to try my hand at restoring (polishing) something that could be classified as a heap (turd). Well, I did just that.

So today, I change the oil and flushed the coolant. While down there, I noticed a TON of old oil just around the oil pan on the front, however, it looks like it could be a bad crank seal as well. I haven't checked the timing belt yet, because I know if I do, that's going to be my intention which will take several weeks. I have a W-2 job and have started my own Contracting business, so I want this thing to run strong.

Today I also noticed a tick when accelerating. It's strongest from 2k to 3.5k rpm. It seems to settle out of 1st gear. So, that's something else I'm going to have to chase down, along with a ton of squeaks and groans. I also changed the driver side hinge pin this morning. So, making progress!
