I can’t speak for the dealer down there . The dealer I use took $20k off this truck and gave me $5500 less than I paid for the trade in 4 years later .

Hear me out: what if we didn't buy vehicles that require favorable economic conditions for us to hang onto? Maybe we in fact should not depend on low interest rates and expected resale value to "afford" a vehicle.

Some people are learning this, good and hard.

Nissan dealers are as bad. If you are a franchise dealer of a maker blowing chunks you are living off of used cars and making zip on new ones unless you are scamming

sometimes you need the school of hard knocks, 100% agree the "afford" thing has got a little thin now for some.

also, the Feds mandating all this continue bullshit isnt helping to keep the costs down either of even the base models

High resale values depend on ever increasing MSRPs of same vehicle over the time of ownership to create a wide gap between a new one and old one. Not sure in 7-8 years 1/2 ton trucks are going to be stickering for $110k to create that gap for today's $80k truck to be a $60k used truck. Companies overshot in MSRP inflation so there will be a period of flat line correction or sales disappear

If you bought over sticker you are screwed

Bull shit. Ha! Not my family owned Nissan dealer going on over 60 years now. You consistently bag on Nissan a lot with no empirical data at all, just 2nd hand news. Come on.

Three have been news articles about how rough times are for Nissan dealers.

Article just last week about Nissan list all is Q1 profits in Q2 due to having to throw money to sell anything. Fact

My local dealer had a couple finance guys prosecuted for fraud last year. Reported on the local news. Fact

Your small town Sammy maybe pristine. But both Nissan and many of their dealers are hurting. Fact.

Denver isn't exactly a small town.

Wrong. Look at the year over year numbers.Screenshot_20240801_170610_Bing.jpg Maxima sucks. Always.Titan phased out. Empirical data. The new Ariya EV....nobody wants them. Too expensive. Tesla is the better option. Ariya brought the numbers down a bit along with the Maxima. Not by much. The Leaf is a joke. Nissan shouldn't have bypassed hybrid option. Numbers don't lie. Fact
Rogue numbers are sky high. I accidentally cut off the Rogue year over year along with the Pathfinder sales. BTW, I could care less about Nissan overall. Not a Nissan fanboy. I'm liking the constantly increasing affordable Frontier sales though. My motor is tight!

Interesting. Wonder if the “deburring” process was manual or digital (CNC). Hard to believe in this day and with over 100 yrs of ICE manufacturing under our belt, that stuff like this somehow goes un-noticed. Maybe we really are in a society in decline.

That and just a general lack of quality focus in today’s work. How quick can I leave and exhaust all my benefits, instead of having passion for your skill.

Back in the day, while in 3rd year mech Eng, we all had to take a semester of machine shop at a local highschool which was a trade school. I had already taken a couple of classes in HS, but one of the first rules is to debur all sharp edges.
