The transmission in my 2007 Tundra 5.7L 4X4 w/tow package is pretty much completely dead. Looking to replace it with a used transmission. From everything I've seen the transmission appears to be the same for 2007 -2010 at least as long as you have the tow package, 4WD and the 5.7L. That being said a lot of part number cross references give different part numbers for the 07 transmission versus an 08,09,10. Is there any reason an 2010 AB60F transmission wouldn't work on my 2007?

Different part numbers, because it had 3 different engine options... 4.0 V6, 4.7 V8, and the 5.7 V8...

I understand part numbers are different for the transmissions with different engine options. I am saying the the 2007 AB60F transmission which is specific to the 5.7L V8 has a different part number from the 2010 AB60F transmission, but as far as I can tell they are the same.

Might have been minor revisions, like how the steering rack is pretty much the same but has different part #s across the years.

I did a little research, and I believe you are going to find that the transmission part numbers will be year specific. Will they bolt up okay?...Yes, probably. Will the harness connectors match with identical pin-out?...possibly not. I believe you should consult a Toyota parts expert (dealer, online Toyota parts site help, etc.) regarding your question.

Did you ever sort this out I have a 07 built in May of 07 and my transmission guy told me the early 07 transmissions were slightly different now I need a shift solenoid and want to make sure it's correct.

What type of codes are you getting?? I've swapped out a few solenoids already, my build date is Feb 07, so we may be off the same lot.

P0983 I’ve read somewhere that they changed the build in 11-07 I’m not sure but my transmission guy with 40 years experience told me that when he ordered the parts but I don’t know. If I ever end up needing a replacement I’d like to know.
