Oh yeah? I was getting the transmission “neutral “ recall done today and all mine would say was - “Gonna be a big one, coming soon, look for your mail, parts not here yet”.

    Awesome news I say

ruger19. Hope your service manager is right. This would go a long way in restoring current and potential customer confidence in Toyota. I've owned Toyota's over the past 30 yrs. and while they seem at times to be a little slow to go with the latest advances I was always happy to sacrifice the latest whizz-bang for reliability and standing behind their product.

I keep hearing that...but never for us hybrid owners as a preventative measure. I don't want issue management here...I want risk mitigation from Toyota.

Observer. Hope he is right. Talked about a corporate meeting with service managers 2 weeks ago. This was the fix from Toyota. Traded my 22 in for a 24 before it blew. Don't regret my trade in. Went with the crew max instead of the double cab. Now i can haul adults in the back seat.

Ruger19. I was very happy with my Tacoma's until one of the grand kids complained of lack of back seat room. Never really thought about it till then. Long story short we took the crew max for a spin and I let the salesman initially drive with wife in front and me in the back to check it out. Night and day difference! Wife loves the Tundra for it's space and ride. Took the grand kids on a 2400 mile round vacation trip to Utah. In short it was great. good gas mileage , comfortable ride and the kids could stretch out with no problems. Love the truck, Just wish this this engine thing would get settled "the right way" so myself along with all the rest us here can know if the dreaded thing goes Toyota will have our backs.

Will this be for ALL recalled Tundra's or ONLY those who have had engine failure?

He said it includes all recalled Tundra's. He didn't know on the order of the long block replacements. I assume Toyota will be come out with some type of order that make sense. I'm sure the blown motors will have priority. He hopes the fix will be sooner rather than later. He had 4 in his shop waiting for short bocks rebuilds.

its all "involved" tundras for the recall, that is much different that it saying all "affected"

if you have a recalled tundra, your getting a brand new full motor

Mine is a 2/10/23 build date. No recall info (aside from the gas tank issue) on the Toyota app at all.

Anyone else have that? Hey if I am not part of it, great.

Do you trust these techs to get this done? I'm not confident on getting this done at all...

I think so, full long block can be done much easier, I would second guess the short block thing way more.

Do we know if this is a mandate? Will they void the warranty if we don't go agree to it? Not seeing anything specific about that in the recall notes or ten thousand articles.
