Sorry guys - been out of town

I was just buying the 5 qt, but it bulges out so much that the lines seems to be pretty inaccurate. I should buy some additional 1 qts. That's a good idea. No hard feelings. I'm still learning how to take care of vehicles and am a complete noob compared to most everyone else on here.

Yeah I am. I did figure that out on my own. But valid question.

Y'all almost lost me to buying a j100 last year or the year before. I was about this | | close. I still may end up grabbing one. I'm super tempted. There's a few near me that have all the right stuff.

Man, I'd love to have one of those Electras that didn't smell like OE, rodent infestation, and/or geriatric.

I’m in the process of a frame resto and have gone with some auto rust spring mounts. The new spring mounts appear to be a bit wider internally, not sure if that’ll pose a problem or if I’ll just need wider bushings when I get my new leafs. The old mounts needed some prybar action whereas these ones fit freely.

What's your plan or does autorust recommend anything to further prevent rust between the new/old frame section you're welding in there?

I imagine it's not perfect and there will be a tiny gap where dirt/water/salt can get sandwiched in between over time. Unless of course you plan to weld every hole/crevice; that might make sense I suppose unless the gap is too large from what I see of the overlay.

All they recommend is a 100% weld coverage on the outside. I’ll be prepping the metal underneath and may slap a coat of paint on the bare metal just in case.

It’s the spacing in between the mount itself, having the gaps on each side of the leaf spring bushing. I’m sure one could just fit a larger bushing and be done with it.

That should be fine, my OEM frame mounts flexed in/out like that between the leaf springs on both trucks. The bolt should be able to squish that plate in some

    Check it after proper torque

Went out and took a gander at a Marketplace truck. Of course the older couple selling only had one picture and it looked decent for $1000
    Screenshot_20240626_091119_Facebook.jpg
Turned out they got the best angle of it. While it did qualify for the frame recall (was about to break in half) the bed was rotted out and man the inside was rough, as well as a back window made of cardboard. Was tempting to get it and do the frame but just wasn't worth the effort of having to find another bed for it. Never would have known if I hadn't looked I guess.

What's a good way to use my work laptop to get into my PC at home? I need a way to restart my server if my PC resets. That or is there a way to tell windows to eat a dick and stop auto restarting?

    Weight reduction, mostly rust.
If it's auto restarting it's been scheduled to. Search "scheduled tasks" shut down, with whatever operating system you are using... like win10 win11 etc...

I think it does it automatically after certain "updates". I saw a tutorial from some Indian dude on how to stop it but all the comments said it doesn't work.
