I purchased a 24 limited with the TRD off road. So far I love the truck, but I want to do a couple mods. First I want to add a lift, but my dealer told me there is a nationwide shortage on the TRD lifts. I thought I read somewhere that this is the only lift that can be done with the TRD off road package? Second, has anyone heard anything about the TRD performance package that was announced back in October? Id love to have a tune but I am not willing to do an aftermarket that will void my warranty.

The info. on this has pretty much gone silent since it was announced. It was supposed to start being available early '24 on new trucks, but even when I bought mine in March, none of the dealers I asked had any update on it's availability. I'm guessing with the ongoing engine investigation/recall, it has been benched until they get everything figured out.

Better off going aftermarket now unless the lift came from the factory. Plenty of good options out there now and Eibach Stage 2 should be out any day now with coilovers in the front. I have not heard anything about the TRD Perfomance PKG since it was first teased. At least you have the red axles since you got the TRD pkg.

Another question I have is about the gas gage? It will show 40 miles until E, the gage itself will be below an 1/8th of a tank but it will only take 24-25 gallons to fill it up. Is the gage that far off?

I just went with the Westcott lift, but added the TRD Bilstein Shocks from the TRD lift kit, and Dobinson's rear lift springs, because I still wanted a little rake since I tow. Ended up getting 1.5 inches of rake out of it. I'm in Phoenix, so Westcott installed the lift. Added 35s and some Method wheels too. My son works at Discount Tire, so I got a smoking deal on the Methods and tires. Ride is amazing, almost as good as stock, looks fantastic, about 2 inches of poke on the tires, and I feel like I'm a foot higher than I was, even though I'm only 4 inches higher, as measured at the wheel arches. The best part, the cost for all was about the same as buying the TRD lift and having it installed. The TRD lift doesn't come with wheels and tires. Heck of a value.

Thanks for the replies. I’m thinking I will go aftermarket. Just have to find what gives me the best ride. I’d also like to add aftermarket air bags that are self leveling for towing my boat.

There’s another thread on this. In essence Toyota out a stop sale on the lift while the figure out a fix. The spring compressor at the Toyota service stations was failing when compressing the TRD coils. However, you can still get the TRD lift installed at the factory if you’re lucky enough to get one off the line like that.

I negotiated the lift in my purchase… not knowing… neither did the service or parts department. Called some other dealerships and same story. They would tell me they could order then call back with the stop sale information

Thank you sir. Actually we have 2 Solar Octane non-Pros in the house. 3 weeks after I bought my Limited, my son got an SR5 because he also loves the color.

I went w/ a full Dobinsons MRR w/ adjustable reservoir setup. If you don't plan on taking it off roading a lot, their IMS will be sufficient. Mine often sees the trail and love the ability to adjust how soft or hard my suspension is. Like others have said, there are many aftermarket options there.

I bet we can kiss that TRD Performance Pkg good-bye until this motor issue is way in the rear view. Bad time to be adding power for some motors.

Eh if the bearings are damaged, they're gonna go regardless of the boost.

I put on an Icon leveling kit then added 35" tires. Both those combined gave the truck a lift without having to buy and install a lift kit.
Unless you're specifically wanting a lift kit you'll notice the difference with those two. Was enough to make me buy a running board to help a little with getting in and out of the truck.
