    Hello,

I did some searching and could not find much on the topic for Gen1's. I was interested in getting a spray on bet liner, and was thinking about going over the rail. From looking at a few photos, it looks like there are several tab holes on the rail, so the end caps can snap in place. I was also planning on putting a BakFlip G2 bed cover on it.

Has any one had an OTR bed liner put on their Gen1? (if so, how did you handle the holes on the rail)

I know it can be a little harder to get a good seal for the bed cover against the bedliner, but any one have good/bad experience on this one?

Most people I've seen on here sprayed up to the rail.

If you live in an area where salt is a problem, I wouldn't do it. Couple of photos floating around here of winter water getting up under the bed thru the bolt holes and eating the bed out from under the liner.

If you opt to do it, I'd stick with Raptor, and remove the bed bolts to spray it in. Then torque th ebolts down to seal things. I wouldn't cover over the rail.

RCLB folks are lucky, I don't think the LB trucks have caps...

I have a feeling I will end having it done up to the rail. I was going to have Line-x done by a local Line-x dealer, I know that they do remove the bed bolts (along with other hardware) before they spray. Price is not bad at $550, and no reason to upgrade if i have a bed cover on it.

I'm going to have my truck bedlined with line-x. I've been debating the same thing about the rails. One reason I've been thinking about over the rails is because the plastic caps slide and move and have already taken the paint off the bed there because of dirt and debris getting under the caps. The line-x seems like it may be a good way to protect the top of the bed rails from rusting. I haven't decided which direction yet.

I've ultimately been unhappy with Line-X in the past, it always seems to oxidize with the southern sun. The only time it's held up is on a fuel cell I had coated, which lived under my truck bed, away from UV rays. I've been pretty impressed with Raptor liner. Gaggles of people have used it on their vehicles with virtually no major oxidation/UV breakdown I could visibly see, many years after application. But if Line-X is what you guys have access to, I'm not gonna knock it.

I think the issue you'll run into with reinstalling the caps after, is the difference in height, getting the rail caps to snap back down. You may be able to find an aftermarket cap that works, though.
