The passenger side front LCA back side bolt sleeve is stuck in the bushing? Can't for the life of me get it out!!!!! I've seen other videos where it has to be cut out of the bushing, but that's another tool purchase that would have to be made.

Any recommendations on how to get it out???

What is your end goal, new bushings? Have you got the control arm off of the truck?

I tried soaking in the penetrator. I tried parts cleaner to attempt de-rusting it. I tried a hammer&mallet. Tried jamming witha screw driver to try to loosen it a little. Nothing is working. Lol

My end goal is to get the LCA off to swap it out. The sleeve is cheap enough from Toyota.
The bolts came out easy peasy and the front sleeve, but the rear one is not breaking way.
I just don't feel comfortable sawing it off. I'm sure there's a way someone got it off.lolol

Sawzall is pretty much the only way if it’s that stuck, unless there’s room to get a punch from the other side. You could also try heat so it melts some of the rubber/ brakes up the rust. Got any neighbors with tools?

I dont have enough experience with rust, but i've also heard of people having to cut em out.

if its budged, put the nut on the end and whack it back & forth, maybe you can work some penetrant into it, if its stuck hard, cut it. No sense in bending the frame mounts.

Hey there 1st gen friend. What part are we pissed off at? Ball joints? Lower ball joint? Or the LCA itself? Or the camber bolts?

Just looking for a bit more information so we can get you set, or at least the knowledge to get it

Happens often. If it were me, I'd get an impact / air chisel with one of the two bits below to knock it out. They're relatively cheap and a good tool to have. If it'll punch rivets out of steel frames, it'll probably knock it loose but ... the sleeve is going to be mangled anyway, so there's no point.

I also vote 'cut it out'.

And you also need to be VERY aware: There are NO aftermarket cams+sleeves anyone has found for the 1st gen trucks that don't use plastic sleeves. Even the big-name brands. You DO NOT want plastic sleeves, they warp, deform, and you'll have alignment probs.

That said, you're probably going to shit your pants when you see how expensive OEM cams+sleeves are. If you can find used, maybe run with that? Someone in the 1st Gen Marketplace was giving their OEM ones away for free, OVER HERE but it's in the PAC NW and I don't think he wanted to ship (I asked :D)

Unfortunately no neighbors with tool. I don't live in a handy man kind of area!!! They ask me for tips with their vehicles like I'm a mechanic or something. kind of sad if you ask me. Today's men aren't really even men. ‍♀️ no offense to anyone.

I went up to Toyota and bought new sleeves. $30 a piece and a Sawzall withhhhhh OF COURSE the metal cutting blades. Lol I'll see how it goes when the rain let's up here in SoFlo!!!

Whomp whomp. Figured I'd try to see if anyone else had some better luck with it.

Thanks, y'all for all of your assistance, tips and tricks!!!!

You might have luck using a 3/8" socket with a shoulder on the outer circumference that will fit in the hole allowing the shoulder to rest on the end of the sleeve. Attach a short socket etension you don't like, hold it with locking plies, and strike the end with a small sledge hammer. You will ruin the extension as it will mushroom on the end, so use a cheap version.

No, but that doesn't seem like a bad idea. All depends on what the metal is.

Seems like one coud put a long 5/16" eye bolt in there with just the right size washers and suck it out with a come a long or other pulling device.

scAmazon. And I'm pretty sure those are heavily touched up, if even the actual product, bait and switch material right there. Can't remember the last time I bought parts from "Qnbes" brand before, sounds totally legit

But wait ... aren't those the same as these that broke while hand-tightening?

My '06 uses the same sleeves, at minimum. Add the two inners in, that's another $60. Add the bolts in at $12/ea at MSRP that's another $24. $144/side is pretty steep when you can buy shitware aftermarket for half that. Glad you got 'em and they had in stock though!

I have had luck with impacts on both sides of the bolt. One reversed and one forward. If you have two impact guns, it's worth giving it a try before busting the saw out.

The Milwaukee torch blades are fantastic.

BTW when I said air chisel I really meant air hammer.
I took off the nut and air hammered out the bolt. Works like a charm!
Just had to mention it, I didn’t want you to think air chiseled the bolt in half. Lol

is it stuck because of tension on the bolt somehow? maybe put a jack under the pivot point, or use a prybar to relieve pressure tension and then hammer it out with a punch?

Unfortunately no. I tried that. Lifted up the LCA to relieve the weight from hanging to see if that would help. Was the 2nd thing I tried. It's seized up, visually visible. So far, I'm almost half way through with the sawzall. Got rained out. But that saw is a bitchhhhhh to do. I couldn't get enough room between the frame and the bushing to get the blade to cut just the bolt, so I have to go through the bushing too. I tried prying the side of the bushing almost like a washer, that was easily accessible, but was afraid of bending the frame so I stopped.

    Is what it is!

The little bracket think that the sleeve and bolts go into. It looks like it's part of the frame so I just called it that. It was bending while I was prying so I just played it safe
