How many different type of headlights were installed on these models, 2018 and newer?

Was LED an option or standard? I am seeing two different types. Is Double cab SR5 different from Sr or Crewmax?

Halogen and LED if memory serves. LED headlights were standard on the higher-end trims like platinum and 1794 editions. I’m unsure if they were optional on the lower end trims. The 2018 had a chrome look and the 2019 is black. So there’s 4 types that I’m aware of given the above information.

The reason I ask is that I am getting Headlight Auto malfunction and somewhere I read anything other than OEM headlights can cause this.

Anyone put LED on their 2018 with Halogen headlights?

Technically there were 4 headlights: chrome housing halogens, black housing halogens, chrome housing leds, and black housing leds.

I went from the black housing halogens to the black housing leds. Your picture shows the black housing halogens and the chrome housing leds.

If you installed Toyota led's on a vehicle that came with stock halogens. You will want a harness adapter. @iHacker is highly recommended and has this product (if staying with OEM parts). If you have different led headlights, not sure what you should do.

So you should be able to find the headlights cheaper thru a dealership and that guarantees they are official Toyota parts. Most ran a memorial day sale and free shipping which makes the cost better.

What do you mean by Auto feature? I leave my dial on Auto so during the day I have the DRL's on but they dim at night when the headlights come on. I don't have to turn my headlights on or off. If that is what you mean, I've had no issues with the leds and the ihacker harness.

If you currently have halogen Headlights with the single LED strip at the bottom then it’s a very simple plug n play upgrade to the OEM LED headlights with @iHacker harnesss.
If your truck has “auto on” headlights (on the stalk is off, auto, drl, on) this will continue to work with the new lights and harness. If your truck has “auto high beams” then this feature will also continue to work with the new LED lights too.

With some headlights you will lose the ability to turn the DRLs off.

My LED headlights (and fog lights) came with the TRD Off-Road package but had to be an SR5 to get them.

Same here- SR5 with the TRD Off-road package gave me the same stuff on my 2018 crewmax.

I love the LEDs, but at over 90k, the headlights have enough rock chips I'm thinking I may replace them before long. Going for the black housings when it's time.

I actually kept my amber DRLs on my 2014 SR5, I don't care for the bright white strips for DRLs..
The white LED strips come on dim with my parking and headlights..

    Welcome to the forum.
