Grabbed a 2x10 off the 70% discount pile at Home Depot and dropped it inbetween the bed stampings, then used the short end to box in a Rubbermaid Action Packer box for keeping straps, bungees, stinger/ball for towing. I did this in my 2012 until I put a canopy and bed slide on it. Need to bust out the hole saw and paint it black.

Second at-home oil change and installed the all-auto window master switch from cartrimhome. About a month ago my driver door stopped unlocking with the remote or switch. Would lock fine though. Read a few posts on here with similar symptoms, guess weak door actuators are a known issue with the 2.5. Thought I would try a new master switch first because it was on sale (also the coupon code Kingsev7 still works) and less work, and of course my door decided to fix itself the day it arrived. Oh well, now I have auto control over all 4 windows which is nice. The blue led color is slightly more blue than the pale OEM blue color, but not really noticeable imo. If I can find a light-up rear-view mirror button then I'd be set. I'd recommend this part to anyone interested. And I'd also recommend to go ahead and buy the Motiv-X oil change kit. The cheap oil filter wrench I bought lasted 3 oil changes before stripping. Luckily I had a 27mm socket to put over the entire end and get this one done. Each oil change I was undoing the overtightening from the dealership, but I still expected the tool to last longer.

Installed some GoRhino D6 running boards. They were $515 shipped through RealTruck and come with a rebate to get a free medium sized hard case. Wanted sliders but just wasn't in the budget yet and with a pregnant wife we (I) needed a solution quickly.
    20240526_081330.jpg

Also drained the coolant and refilled/burped. Easy but took longer than expected.

    20240525_094938.jpg

    Lastly did an oil change.

Removed TRD Fox shocks and reinstalled my factory original yellow Bilsteins shocks that came with the TRD Off Road package. Thinking I should have the TRD Fox kit rebuilt. ORRRRR…do I buy something else? :notsure:

For future reference for anyone wondering which side the dots go on, mine had blue and yellow dots on the coils.

The blue dot on the factory TRD Off Road shocks goes on the drivers side facing out. Yellow dot faces out on the passenger side.

If you have liked the Pro shocks, get them rebuilt. If they aren't worth the rebuild cost to you, buy something else that fits your needs. Rebuild will be less then a new set of shocks, but if you aren't happy with the performance I can understand not wanting to spend the rebuild money.

I really like them. They felt great on any terrain. Nice and floaty. But I may start pulling a small camper around, and I wonder if there is something that better straddles the line between towing stability and off-roading with a small (2-3”) lift.

Already got RAS. It’s great. The plan is to have them rebuilt.

Casey’s gotta be getting close to needing to rebuild his.

Have a side pic of those running boards. Interested to see how high and tight they fit. Thanks!

A little late, but this past week I had my SPC upper balljoints replaced with the new non-serviceable replacements for their UCAs as well as an alignment. I normally would not have been thrilled about losing the zerk fittings, but I was kind of over the ones that came with it after them blowing grease out within the first few thousands miles. I kept greasing them at regular intervals in the hopes I could make them last, but the constant loss of grease + the concerns about all the QC drop during COVID (when I purchased these) convinced me to pre-empitively upgrade them. They were surprisingly in decent condition so I'll keep them around in case I need an emergency back-up, but in the long run I'll probably move to a different brand UCA completely if I run into more issues.

Also, finally started running 93 octane in my truck this week. I've had the OTT tune for about a year, but didn't think I was going to appreciate any noticeable gain on 93 and ended up completely forgetting about the need to try it out. 93 didn't turn it into a race car overnight, but I just finished a 300 mile drive from South Eastern NC to the Augusta, Ga area and was pleasantly surprised by how much more likely it was to hold 6th gear on slight inclines going through those rolling hills across SC. Overall trip mileage was noticeably a bit better than times I've made this trip previously, probably by roughly .5mpg to 1mpg keeping it in the 65-70mph range. Too early to tell if this is just a placebo effect or if I'll notice it over the long term.

Purchased the black radio surround from Ourisman Toyota and installed it tonight. I love the look over the silver...especially alongside the tan leather. The only silver left inside now is on the doors (and radio of course)...and the chrome on the dials. Only one issue with the reassemble: the black trim that surrounds the instrument cluster has two pins that get inserted at the top side...for the life me, I can't get them reinserted correctly. I'll try to search here, I'm sure many have run into the same problem.

Anyway, not a great pic since it got dark out and had to pull it into the garage.

    20240528-202821_c323361f8e6ac8d4e22ad323d0f5602156d5c09d.jpg

The bumper caps from Ecoological have been ordered and next purchase will likely be a TRD Pro grille (have the Limited chrome grille now)...just have to shop around, I guess.

For the last few months, I was thinking about trading in and upgrading to a 24. But I just can't do it. Only 28K miles on a 2020 and that V8 engine runs so smooth. I can't give it up...so it's time to put some serious money into it after three years of stock(iness). ;)

Hey, another Wilmington Tundra! I did the TRD grill on my 2020 earlier this year; I ordered the grill, hood bulge (was on back order foreverrrr), and garnish from Hendrick Toyota in Apex and got a great deal when they were running one of their sales + free shipping. May be worth watching them to see if they have another sale running.

Very cool! Yeah, I've seen a few white Tundras around. I know we're all out there around town and on the beach.

Thanks for tips too! I'll definitely check there. And that's the other thing I'm trying to avoid, is back ordered items and having to wait, but I guess I'm not in any rush. Like I said, I've had the truck three years and I've only blacked out some of the interior and replaced the chrome mirror caps to white. But it's definitely time to make some upgrades if I plan to keep it long term.

I will get you some shots when it stops raining out today. They sit snug to the body and have both side-to-side adjustment as well as up and down. Mine are touching the pinch welds under the door/rocker.

Did you buy it new? Have any oil leaks addressed since owning it? That's FIPG(form in place gasket) and factory applied FIPG is mostly grey, or orange for high temp like diff, transfer, trans.

I'm a Toyota MDT and just bought a 2021 Platinun Tundra with 8500miles on it, bought a Toyota 10/100k for it without batting an eye. You can easily get your money back in repairs and extended warranty if you intend to keep it long term. You're eligible to buy an extended warranty as long as it's in factory warranty(which it is) just keep in mind the extended starts from date of first use, so not from the date of extended warranty purchase.

Looks awesome! :fistbump: For me this mod was totally worth the trouble and makes it so much easier to wash/dry.
Now, how about those 'B' pillars? Gonna just leave that black vinyl on that naked truck?

Yeah I think it look a lot better. And wasn’t to hard to do in the sun, the adhesive came easily. Didn’t have to even use Goo Gone or anything. If you peal it parallel to the body panel, it will peal right off. As for the pillars, I dunno. Did you take the vinyl off of yours? Do you like it that way?

I did and I do. I like the way it breaks up the 'unibrow'. I like the way it looks on the DC also, but I think the change is more drastic on a DC too.20230315_160300.jpg
