Typically acoustic glass is thicker but otherwise dimensionally the same. I would cross reference weatherstripping part numbers across trim levels to see if they change between acoutic/ non-acoutic models. I KNOW they do change for door glass (weatherstripping and seals).

Most noise comes from drivetrain/ road noise/ NVH/ etc.but acoutic glass is noticable in heavy rains.
That being said, for a minimal price difference, I personally would pay out of pocket for acoustic glass.

Installed Spider canopy/camper rack to match the front. Any tips on sprucing up the weathered powder coat on the front rack? I tried some Nu Finish polish I had laying around and it helped only a tiny bit but I didn’t really try too hard to rub it in.

Cerakote trim wipes will definitely bring the back to black, in like a semi-permanent way. I put it on the plastics on my truck last year and they are still super black. The only downside is that it adds a bit of gloss shine https://www.amazon.com/CERAKOTE-Ceramic-Trim-Coat-Kit/dp/B07SHJVK4G?th=1

I bought the bottle version of this recently and it’s still unopened. This should be good on the metal? I was hesitant because it said for plastics.

Unloading lumber, smacked my left tail light at the perfect angle to break off the bottom screw plate. Found some jb weld in a drawer for a quick repair. The grocery bag I covered the exposed bulbs with acted as a decent, if ghetto, housing for the night.

I am wondering if anyone has experience with transferring their TPMS sensors to other wheels? I am replacing my Limited wheels with some new ones and do not know if the TPMS can be reused, or if they are perm mounted on the inside of the wheel?

You can have them transferred from the Limited wheels to your new wheels.

Yes they can be moved. They install into the wheel with a nut that retains them.

TPMS sensors are generally re-usable. However sometime the original sensors may have difficulty fitting a different rim. It depends on the shape.

Its based on the shape of the wheel. For example, the sensors from the steel wheels will fit alloy wheels if you rotate them 180 degrees. The issue with that is the bead bar possibly hitting them during tire changes.

Truck has been parked while I have been using the farm truck to get home projects done. I parked it so I can stare at it out the large window when I am in the kitchen. It is like owning a different truck with the new headlights and wheels. Very happy with it, finally.

We are prepping for a plane trip, so the truck will be sitting for a while. I saw one of those dirty tree rats in my yard yesterday. Just shaking its stupid bushy tail while I was inside, so I released the dog and it ran off to the adjoining property. So I think I will be doing the squirrel/rat guard thing here soon just to be safe.

What happened to the dog that you were fostering a little while back on your road trip?

Ok, good to know. I am replacing OEM 20" Nightshade wheels with OEM 20" Limited "normal" wheels. So, they should be the same size and shape. Just hope they don't damage them on transfer.

My derpy shadow? As of now, he will remain with me. He got a little shitty one day with the partner, so he is on a short leash... but I fear his quirks would get him a needle if he got placed elsewhere...

Yeah, he is. And he is finally attaching to the misses. He is a good boy, most of the time.

LOL, I would expect nothing else from an address like the one you work at LOL.... Good luck on the Toyota buy!

Thanks. My youngest will be learning to drive in about 15 months. I found a 2019 Tacoma SR5 with 44K miles on it for 28K

If you have access to some private land, get them started now. Makes them much more comfortable when it's "for real". I taught my kids as soon as they were big enough to reach the pedals.
