    MY22-24 Tundra - Front Brake Squeal - T-SB-0043-24

    Introduction
Some 2022 - 2024 model year Tundra vehicles may exhibit a condition where the front brakes squeal when driving forward or in reverse.

    Warranty Information
R&R Front LH & RH Shim Kit, Brake Pad Kit, & Front Discs

There are very specific instructions as to where grease should be applied to the new shim kit (there is a specific grease in the kit just for the shim kit) and also where to apply brake caliper grease.

My squeal started around 8k miles, and I'm currently at 11k. I'd call it pretty faint and it goes away after a mile or two. Intermittent enough I hope they don't make me prove it before asking for the TSB at my 15k service.

same here with the intermittent part. I might have to record it and hope and pray they accept that. Im at 27k and still get the nasty squeal cold or hot

I wonder if the rear differential issue will get a TSB. Another Tundra with the same issue rolled in right after mine on Friday when I dropped off.

Mine has always been there. I just release the brake when I start hearing it and press again. It’s like you have to find a sweet spot where it doesn’t squeal

This sounds exactly what I am doing. lol The sweet spot where it isn't embarrassing to brake. I filled out another Toyota Engagement thing online... Let's see where it goes from there. I listed the T-SB in my message.

I get the squeel but just adj brake pressure.

What is really embarrassing is your in Reverse waiting for traffic to clear not on brakes cuz of whatever way the truck is parked and traffic rolls by and your truck slams the brakes and everyone stares at you in parking lot like wtf was that sound

Does the TSB require the squeal be duplicated?

I started going to Plano dealership and this is what I got ordered today. They didn’t even ask for a video just said we’ll check it out and I kept the brakes cool thanks to the alternator regen thingy. And boy did they squeal like a damn train coming to a stop lol.
    IMG_4119.jpg

My advisor said new pads rotors shims with grease. I also had the subwoofer rattle checked out at my old dealer they said they couldn’t duplicate it even after showing them what was rattling and Plano ordered an entire subwoofer assembly.

I also asked if this brake TSB would be required when you do a brake job in the future and he said most likely GTS should update their procedures and part numbers for the job. A bit of faith has been restored.

I have recorded my squeal about 10x between yesterday and today. Of course the day I take it in, it will probably not do it. It is documented that I complained back in March of 2023 since it has been doing it since before then. I mentioned it more times at my services but they didn't document it. I spoke to Toyota Engagement and they told me the brakes are not covered under warranty for a squeak. As soon as the T-SB came out, I filled out another complaint with TE. I am waiting for them to contact me.

I have a 2023 with squealing brakes and it does not shop up in the APP. How does Toyota determine what vehicles are supposed to be covered by TSB? Eg I have the .60+ Toe from factory, and tires are chewed on outer edges, but I am not part of that TSB either since my truck was manufactured after May 2023

A TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) is not the same as Recall...only Recalls will show up in the app...

I would talk to your dealer to determine if you are covered for this particular TSB...

As far as the Tire Wear LSC (Limited Service Campaign), I would call the Brand Engagement Center - https://www.toyota.com/support/contact-us

Sucks. At least Toyota is getting around to fixing it. I bet those that brought it up to have service advisors say "its normal" lose trust in their dealer.

I know I have just by reading about it.

Will 2026 be the year all of the various issues be addressed permanently?

Well...it was normal...not that it was a good thing, but it certainly was normal and almost expected...

2026 looks to be the year...

I'll probably keep my 2022 for a long while as it has been great up to this point...just crossed 46,000 yesterday...

It's just differential whine...a lot of Toyota BOF vehicles do have it...some more than others...some have had the rear differential replaced and the issue doesn't return...

Already contacted brand engagement, got assigned a case manager, also shared Falken tires email about outer wear and alignment issue, they just told me they can just offer free alignment, nothing else
