this 1794 Limited Edition will never sell

this is so crazy. this dealership in Columbia SC is selling this amazing truck for, yes you guess it $93,068 there is no way on GODS green earth this truck will sell at this price. I picked up mine for about the price of the 2021 TRD PRO so sad

maybe not that one, but MANY are going well under sticker. I paid 74k and I've seen as low as 72k

 

Ankrist, what part of the country are you in? At the dealership right now and getting at 82k before negotiating, seems high to what you are seeing.

 

That is ridiculous, shop online, fly, and drive.

 

I'm in the midwest, but the 72k I saw was from a dealer near seattle.

I got mine 5K under MSRP in the same state. this dealership still has the 10k mark up on a TRD PRO

 

I bought mine for 5K off MSRP in the same state just 70 miles down the road its just this dealership

 

I think its just going to cover the smart car stuff????? no clue I had some apple car play problems and went to them to see if they could help me and the guys there had no clue how to help me

 

and feel good about it till he gets on here and finds out how much we spent on these awesome trucks

Pickup trucks sure have gotten pricey and complicated.

Its not a combination I'm comfortable with, but happy yall at least got in on the "discount" anyway.

 

If you walk in to these dealers and show them you are a serious buyer those markups disappear quick. They want to move inventory. When I bought my pro last yr they were asking $15k over sticker. After I rolled on the floor laughing for 5 minutes they sold it to me for sticker.

 

Then add a lift, giant tires for $15,000 more and think look at how cheap I got this.

 

Just saw a white one today while getting oil change. Already sold at msrp of 80k. No markup. Gotta say that thing was damn nice.

 

If they can sell Capstones for $105K in the middle of the big P, they will sell the 1794 Limited Editions.

They have 3 black 1794 edition setting at my local dealer $92k. Not a snowball chance in hell. They offered to buy my ‘19 CMSB Limited for a great amount if I bought a new vehicle. Looked at 6 different Tundras and 2 new Tacomas and there was nothing making me go wow I can see me driving this.

 

8 years from now when the leather is all worn out, it won't be special anymore.

Don't forget there is also the psychology of the bump sticker making it easier for the dealer to get MSRP, which was the goal anyway. Hey look they dropped $10,000 off, I got a great deal!!!

I have a 2013 Harley Davidson Street Glide and nothing new makes me want to spend $25,000 to replace it.

There are folks out there. Who purchase things just because they are a limited edition, this extends to cars. People want something they can feel is special. Its kinda sad to me, but to each their own.

Buddy of mine has some special edition GMC truck, cost him like 70K pre covid times... He is proud of that special edition, knowing he paid more for the limited edition of the thing... To me, it looks like any other similar year chevy / gmc... I notice 0 difference from other high end trims without special badging. Yet he will rave about the differences in special the model he bought. But when cornered, it comes down to owning a badge.

I will say again. Someone will give them near ask for that truck, and until too late to capitalize, the dealer will refuse to come off the markup. Just because it says 1/1500 LE. There are too many, who are worried about the jones'... Badges are a thing sadly.

 

Msrp on mine was 79k I got it for 72300 before taxes. It was on the lot for 3 weeks.
