Does anyone else have Red or Orange colored spots all over the chrome Trim in the front and/or the tailgate handle? My 23 Limited is getting really bad and I want to see if Toyota will cover the replacement with 34k on the clock.

    Trying not to mod it
It's not real chrome so it's probably embedded debris. Possibly rail dust if it's not been decontaminated since you took ownership. I know some use Iron X to remove it, if that's what it is.

I've had a car with rail dust on it before this isn't it, its the size of water spots. It's way bigger than what I'm used to for rail dust.

Posted, I live in Colorado so they don't really salt here like they do in the mid-west or Ontario.

Its bits of steel flying off the plow blades on the asphalt, land on the road and tires wing it up and it embeds itself in your paint

So is there a simple fix verses new trim pieces?

Send it to a detail shop. If they can get rid of it.....then spend the coin and do it yourself.

You can one try these if you have a DA polisher and see if it comes off.
If not, use it on your paint once a year..
Amazon.com: Nanoskin AUTOSCRUB 6" Surface Prep Pad Fine Grade- Patented Clay Bar Replacement Tool to Remove Embedded Contaminants Before Wax & Coating | Safe for Painted Surface, Glass, Plastic, Metal & More : Automotive

Or this and a lot of elbow grease.
Amazon.com: Nanoskin (AS-019) AutoScrub Fine Grade Sponge : Automotive

You'll need a lubricant and keep it wet.
    Note this is a concentrate.
Amazon.com: Nanoskin GLIDE Silicone Free Spray Detailer 16 oz - Use with Autoscrub/Clay Bar After Car Wash | Leaves No Residue Before Wax Sealant Coating | Automotive, Home, Garage, DIY & More | Concentrated : Everything Else

Or use this, it's ready to go.
Amazon.com: Chemical Guys CLY_KIT_2 Medium Duty Clay Bar and Luber Synthetic Lubricant Kit,16 oz, 2 Items, Gray : Everything Else

I use the Nanoskin once a year with my DA polisher to remove impurities from the paint before I wax.
YouTubes on how to use them, good luck.
