The prospeed one vents to the atmosphere, open system. Most in cold wet weather will use a closed system like the radium. You'll see both types for sale but I prefer the closed system to prevent condensation in my valve cover as I live in a wet environment in the winter. You being down south are good. But yes it's natural for that type of system.

Edit: sorry @reywcms didn't see your response...

You just need real access to the ECU. I'm not re-geared, stock 4.30. Just a bunch of extra goodies to fly like Icarus, haha. I don't know my HP but its up there. A good tune via HPT will remove the limiter and improve all around goodness. I like using @snivilous but I'm biased. Do you have a wideband afr gage? It's a good idea to monitor when in boost. Keeps your engine safe!

D3Performance sent me this layout to put the ecu into recovery mode to be able to install the stock file back on. I will try this later, if no success they said they can do it at their shop, just have to pay for shipping both ways.

Nice find! It's worth a try. ECU's can be finicky. Any voltage drop, computer issue and whatever like a bad crosswind can cause it to stumble when writing. Mine was a faulty 5v constant wire issue with AIP. Every company has a "brickable" warning. After my incident I just fireproof what I could and wrote the tune. No issues since then.
Good luck and hope your up and running soon.

Any tune should fix the governor issue. Mine has 5.29s and has been over 120mph plenty of times.

As for what's enough or a good amount of power, I guess that's personal preference. Personally a stock tundra feels absolutely gutless in comparison, so seems weird someone would say it's not worth it. Are the price vs gains on the steep side compared to other engines? Maybe.

I think my tundra makes a good amount of power, would more be nice? Sure. But it's enough to make it fun, and it's reliable and comfortable. If I was looking to truly be fast I wouldn't start with a 6000lb Tundra in the first place either.

Whoever said a supercharger isn't worth hasn't been in one that's supercharged lol That's like when someone asked me why I did long travel etc and we went wheeling. After I gave them a ride that mindset changed pretty quick.

Pretty sure the sensors were not the issue, but they were old, so I replaced them anyways. No change in wideband readings after replacing the sensors, and I was wrong about the narrow band, it is reporting as slightly richer on the same bank. If it's not raining I'm going to try swapping some injectors around this weekend to see if anything changes and check connections, hoses, etc.

Definitely an interesting issue. Are the LTFTs reflective of what you’re seeing on the problem bank as far as rich/lean as well?

It does look like it's pulling fuel in the LTFT for that bank, having issues with my logging at the moment. For some reason the Stable version of Scanner doesn't pull my stock channels, so I have to use the Beta version, and I'm having issues with channels not charting, or some still disappearing outright when I start scanning...it's been a frustrating process.

I think I found the cause of my issues...and as usual, it's my own damn fault! My head unit has an OBD2 tap so I can monitor via the display, after disabling that the VCM scanner reads like it should. I've had this head unit since before I had the MPVI2, so maybe it's an issue with the MPVI3, or the software...who knows. I'm good to go now it seems, at least on data acquisition-side of things.

Yeah, mine has the ODB2 plug as well, but it also gets connection via the Maestro apparantly...so I guess I never needed the plug.

So I ordered the AEM AFR gauge. I was looking at where to place it. Dont like the steering wheel column mount. Also not to keen on the pillar mount. So I found that they make a A/C vent mount for the 3rd gen Tacoma's that works with our vents. But I am concerned about condensation or other issues when the A/C is on. What's your take or other mounting locations.

Custom mounted mine in my glove box, not exactly easy to look at a glance, but I got them mainly for logging. They are "through" a piece of ABS that is riveted to aluminum angle that is secured with screws that go into nutserts under the glove box.

Interesting. I use an iDatalink Mastro but need to the OBDII connection to make it work. Like @e30cabrio its one or the other for me. I’ve mused over using a splitter but figured that would be a sure fire way to brick an ECU if I tried to flash and forgot to unplug the head unit. Glad you got it figured, though.
