I got the AFE installed about 3 years ago, but i live in a pretty tame climate so it cant be a variation of cold and hot weather. Also, i put in an order with the company but have not heard anything back from them since yesterday morning. If anyone has any info on https://afepower.com/ or a vendor, for them have have they sold their company to some automated system?

Thanks. Yea I don’t want to break the bank but I also want something reliable. I sound like Goldilocks haha. A Tekton one I’m seeing is like $35-40 and comes with a case. My cheap one didn’t even have a case. Also looking at a CDI for $187. I’d rather not spend that much.

Now that I look it up and see that it was only $30, I wonder how accurate the Torin is :monocle:

Never had any problems with it, but maybe I’ll invest in a nicer one.

Even if it’s off by 5-10%, it sure beats an air tool jockey at a dealership just GFT-ing the snot out of everything.

I have a Tekton one from Amazon. Comes with a case and a lifetime warranty. Works well. If it's $50 one day, it'll be $38.50 the next and vice-versa.

I have the same setup, with the Alpine volume/bass knob. It doesn't bother me, but keep in mind it's a bluetooth knob, so you literally have to turn it to wake it up right before you start the truck (turn on the Halo), or it won't sync it and you'll have to go into the Halo settings to sync it afterwards. Literally. Every! Time! (other than that, it's great!)

Got the hitch lock that just uses the original key of the truck so no need to carry extra keys and worry about loosing them, great and easy set up..

Went a little to hard on the screws up the CAI, did not like how loose it was and snapped the bolt. Was looking for advice on which ones are these bolts as i needed to replace some of the rusted and missing ones as well:

First one is the washer fluid bolt:
    PXL_20240420_160020661.jpg

Second is the CAI bolt and housing:
    PXL_20240420_155504291.jpg PXL_20240420_155550319.jpg

Third is the Skid plate bolt:

Just did the throttle body coolant bypass...that was easier than an airfilter swap! Tho, having the TB upside-down makes it easy...did the same thing to my 2uz 4runner!

I decided to drive it today and made it a point to stay out of boost. 13mpg and climbing. Not sure where it will cap out, but happy to see that I can quickly recover from smashing the fun pedal and get back to at least pre-forced induction fuel economy.

These are post that I can appreciate. It's nice to see that north of 13 mpg can be achieved...with effort.

The effort is really only in remembering that I'm not a kid anymore and that I shouldn't be treating each drive like it's an amusement park ride.

Washed my truck for the first time in almost 2 years. I’m surprised how good my little guys were; letting me wash my truck and not running in the street. My 4 year old took a big plastic brush up to my truck but I caught him just in time. That was a close call.

Apologize, it’s late, took some time and wiring setup, but here it is. Will post more pictures tomorrow during daytime.

No drill. Clamps are mounted inside the bed rail. Painted the bolt black to blend in with the bed.

    IMG_2122.jpg
The top cross bar sits about cap height, and it does block the third brake light and cargo light. But no worries, I have my SS2 light pod work as brake lights and reverse.

    IMG_2123.jpg
I already setup led lights underneath the bed rail with a on/off switch.

    IMG_2113.jpg
Mounted a pair of Diode Dynamics SS6 in amber flood pattern. This pattern doesn’t blind on coming traffic, but it’s enough to let other drivers see you. Glad it clears the garage, with about 3 inches left.

    IMG_2114.jpg
This will be great to use during foggy conditions, off roading, and rainy conditions.

    More photos coming…..

Stopped by the hardware store on the way to the woods to go morel mushroom hunting. I needed to get some items to complete the front bumper install I did last weekend.

I bought a ZeSuper 13,000lb winch since it seemed to get great reviews. When I went to install it during the bumper install, I discovered that the bolts to secure it to the winch plate were just a bit short since the Ironman winch plate was thicker. And they were Chinese, which I little faith in, so I upgraded to Metric 10-9 bolts from the local hardware store.

I ordered some Aux Beam fog lights that seemed to be of great quality, but they were too big to fit in the area of the bumper with the light mounts, so had to drill holes in the top plate for them, but then discovered that I had to take the bumper off to reach the bolts and route the connectors.

So I ended up taking the most of the bumper off, upgrading winch hardware, and getting the fog lights on. Waiting on the adapter cable from Cali Raised to plug them into the factory fog light harness. I also mounted the traction boards on my canopy rack. It will be interesting to see if they generate any annoying wind noise tomorrow on my road trip North.

Definitely a fan of the bronze rims. Got a side profile pic? What is the red in your bumper grill? Neon? Green traction plates was an interesting color choice.

Been off line a couple days...honestly, no idea. It was on the truck when I bought it used after the original owner traded it. I believe it was part of a SE regional appearance package X-PS.

Installed Trail Grid Pro's Sony XAV-9000ES plug & play bundle and Scosche's TAQ03 MagicMount wireless charging module for the Tundra. Install on both was easy and I couldn't be happier with both. In my opinion both a wireless CarPlay compatible system and wireless charging should have been standard equipment in 2018+ vehicles. Both of these upgrades look OE and will increase my enjoyment of this great truck.

    Brand new cabin air filter!
I live down the street from them in Corona. Give them a call tomorrow morning. The guys at the parts counter are really cool guys. There was an older gentleman that helped me with a couple air filters a few months back.
