USAA is the best insurance company when it comes to paying for vehicle repairs. They approve OEM parts, or close enough to where we can price match, and approves the repairs that are required with very little pushback.

Chubb insurance is another great one for body repairs, but I have heard that they can be pretty expensive.

State Farm (Snake Farm) is the worst. Argues with manufacturer procedures and refuses to pay whats needed. Gives customers a hard time.

Allstate switched to fully virtual and will not send out field appraisers. We have to facetime with them to review damages and it is difficult to show damages on a camera in full. They also do not pay for rental vehicles up front. The customer has to pay and then be reimbursed after repairs are completed...but of course they find some way to not pay 100% due to the price not being "competitive.

The rest are all pretty much a collective "meh".

Steer clear of Fred Loya or Veelox.

Not auto insurance, but I've joined @Mr.bee 's gym. Health Insurance if you will. Been moving rocks from here to there, removing soil around tree stumps. Bought an industrial wheel barrow aka mini skid steer. Hard work is fun, so much better than joining a gym. Relevant because part of what I'm doing is removing hill to expand my truck parking opportunities.

Ive got the little talking lizard insurance. 1 truck and 1 motorcycle. That slimy little bastard offered better rates than any of the other big name outfits out there. They've got a pretty killer smartphone app too.

USAA used to be good insurance. Honestly my last 2 claims experience with them was terrible. Nobody knew what was going on. They undervalued both vehicles. They never reached out to me about anything, I had to track it all down. Stark contrast to 10 or 15 years ago when it was practically concierge service. Also the rates were double everyone else for the same coverage. After 24 years with them, I switched last year when we bought our current home. We save almost $2k a year between home and auto since we dumped them.

Dito they double paid me for my claim then tried to renig half if it's so i got a lawyer and had them revalue my wagen, which was in mint fucking cindition, a full loaded out TDI Sport wagen that I had lifted and OEM plus parts in, and they ended up letting me keep the money as they tried to short me 4k in the first place, I walked away with 17600 vice the 88oo they were trying to pay me. Oh and it took them 3 months to even offer me money to gwt a replacement. They did that so id take a lower offer. At least thats what the lawyer told me.

Belkin mag charger is only $40 right now. Not sure if anyone is hunting, but at $40 versus $60 for name-brand, I'm picking one up. I think I may try to fab up something that'll work with the FirstGenTundra.com ashtray mod face. My phone situation has been pissing me off and now I have a new phone and thus need need new cords (from lightning to USB-C), I figure it's probably the time to go wireless/mag, and so it in a way that radio mount could come later.

I had one of these for a while, held my phone fine, but i gave it to a buddy because i prefer my hand written directions & when the sun was in the wrong spot i'd get blinded.

Supposedly the case I have on my phone is also magnetic and absolutely won’t let go, so I’m gonna be, like, double-maggin’ or something.

D you plan to remove the stump? There are some interesting methods people use on Youtube. I’ve seen holes filled with water and epsom salt, a stump saturated with cooking oil and burned, and someone making a rocket stump. Something @Mrbee would do.

Used motor oil 5 to 6 quarts to 2 quats petrol. Drill multiple deep holes with 1/2in paddle bits, let set overnight, kill it with fire the next day

First time doing brakes on this truck. Do the springs go on top or the bottom? I put them on the bottom because that's where they were before, but that doesn't mean it's right. Top would make more sense to me for keeping the pads from resting on the rotors.
