Steel Front Bumper Dent

    Came home yesterday to a nice dent in my front bumper from the wife. Wooden post 1. Tundra 0.

    I’ve spoken to a dent repair guy but says the steel is too thick to repair.

    Have anyone had any experience with fixing a dent here? Or am I better off looking for a new/used one?

    Tried to pop out a much, much milder vertical dent in my rear bumper when someone tagged me in a parking lot while I was donating a bunch of stuff to a Kidney Fund site within weeks/months of getting the truck.

    I had a hefty BFH w/some oak trying to hammer it out, to no avail. Went to straight hammering, hammer to metal, made a little progres, but it was chunky, and looked like ass afterward, worse than before the dent. In the location that is, I think you're better off just buying a new bumper skin.

    I think I would pull it off and try pounding it out before looking for a new/used one. Can't hurt.

    Being that the dent is on the top corner (corner bent too)... It will never come back out to satisfactory condition... But it's worth giving it a try first though ...

    I’ve had good luck with my rear bumper fixing something similar but it involved using a hand pneumatic press braced against the frame to push out the offending bump.

    Cut out the dent, Shape and weld in a piece of slightly thinner steel? Then get handy with sanding/polishing

    but prerunner bumpers look best. Or get those rowdy armor bumpers.

    stock looks like trash imo

    I did some very amatuer PDR style dent removal on my rear bumper prior to coating it with bedliner. Turned out ok. If leaving chrome it would not look great.
