What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

For me, the eye rolls are deafening. Then I remind her she's so much more cool when she ignores me.










Edit: I'm kidding about the last part. 1) I could never get away with that unscathed and 2) I actually wish we could spend more.time together, not less. The first part is absolutely true.

 

Finished the OEM power tailgate lock install. What a nice kit! Has everything you need, took maybe an hour. Stoked! Tonneau cover shows up Friday.

 

Did an oil change on Saturday. First time using the Fumoto valve and OMG is that little thing a game changer! So worth it.

 

We have the material. We're working on the 3rd gen this week and the 2.5 gen next week (tentatively). I'd say maybe 3 business weeks? Tentatively... we know lots of people have been wanting them, so having stock would probably be in our best interest...

 

Yeah I got an email from Carol stating a hopeful ship by date of 4/12.

 

She's a little more involved in that process than I am, so I would look forward to around that date. A little before or a little after.

 

TruXedo Pro X15, Elevate Rack System, and Go Rhino fishing rod holders installed...and while I was at it, Tundra letter inserts and USMC motto sticker the wifey got me put on also (happy wife, happy life)

Yeah the shipping would rip me a new one.

 

So I bought eBay black emblem overlays and just under 2 months they started to peel off(tape was coming off the overlay) So I ordered oem black emblems and just swapped them out. Much longer process than slapping the overlays on. came out good tho.

 

Installed SDHQ ABS guards. Pretty easy since my bolts weren't rusted in and the rear studs came right out.

 

Added a 5 inch zone lift and 20x10 - 18Moto metal wheels, Bushwacker fender flares are out for paint

 

I'm about to catch crap from a few lol but make sure you install PPF with the flares.

No way. Just behind the flares and on the headlights lol.

 

Found the growling issue was a rear wheel bearing coming apart. In the shop waiting for them to free up for 1/2 a day to fix. Was quoted around $800, but will be closer to $1200 if new abs sensor gets damaged. Sound right?

 

Seems high...$600 would be closer to comfort for me...but things are weird nowadays...

 

After dealing w a sheared ABS sensor and losing 4wd in the last set of snow storms, I installed these too.

 

It should be damn easy to remove the ABS sensor before the axle removal to do the work.

 

emptied out the bed and blew out all the sand from the beach. put the hitchmount pod back in, and pulled out the pedal commander

 

Replace it with the Banks Pedal Monster. Its a much better unit.

 

I changed my plugs yesterday at 99700k not sure about plugs but the new ones big difference in idle and acceleration

 

Been a while since I’ve posted anything. Finally had sometime to install the knock off TRD Pro skid plate I bought months ago. While I had the stock plate and the bumper step off, I spent a good bit detailing, cleaning and painting the toe hooks and mating surfaces. Having an alignment done in the morning as well.

 

What plugs did you go with? Iridium something

 

Working on blacking out the doors. I bought these door Insert covers on Amazon for $40.

They just cover up the panels like miso and AJT designs Cover up up pieces

They fit pretty decent. There’s a few gaps here and there and I had to replace some of the double-sided sticky tape already in a couple sections with a little bit stronger stuff. But until I get around to doing something different, this will work for now.

 

Wish they had it for a double cab.
