What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Great day in NY so I gave it a long overdue washing. I also moved my Scan Gauge III from the windshield mount to a dash mount.

Today I installed $15 bed lights.

I previously installed the OEM bed lights a few years ago and they suck.
I figured for $15 I'd give these a try.
I did paint the white wiring black (not sure why it was white in the first place), and added additional 3M molding tape, stuff I already had in the garage.
Stuck them to the bottom of the bed rail system..



Much better than the OEM.
I had to offset the OEM because of my swingcase.

 

Where did you find the all black one? Been searching but haven’t had luck yet.

 

I finally had time to install the TRD swaybar I found on marketplace.

Oh yeah and I painted it color-matched Cavalry blue.

Besides putting the gas tank skid on today, I also figured out why my rock lights stopped working. Ground wire was loose. Got them at tractor supply store. My wife wants me to get more lights for the wheel wells. These have red, blue ,green and white .

 

Found those but they have red stitching which I don’t want. Thank you though. I’ll keep looking.

 

These look so much better in blue.

 

Black suede headliner finished. All black panels painted with plastic adhesion promoter and SEM black.

 

That paint to match sway bar is bad ass...

 

I appreciate that a lot! Red is not my style, so I figured I would try out rattle-canning it. I sanded the bar and links a bit to rough it up and taped over the important bits (label, bushings, etc.) then hit it and it came out great! I did not put a clear coat on it because...well, it's a sway bar. It's going to get dirty anyway.

 

Keeping the OEM sticker was a nice touch as well..

 

You should put a few twinkly bluish stars on the headliner (even better if they glow in the dark a little)....

I'd be concerned about that piece of ring you found off your diff.
Clean that rust off with a Scotch Brite pad and keep.and eye on it.

 

New to me 2015 Crewmax 1794. Finished up the front end upgrade today (minus the bumper caps, still need to get that done). Chrome delete. Pieced together the grille with DIY emblem on the cheap. $360 all in. OEM everything except for the hood bulge (eBay).

 

I’ve seen dudes do that fiber optic mod above the headliner. That’s crazy cool, but not for me.

 

How are you securing the boot at the top where it meets the shift knob?

 

Turn the boot inside out. With top of inside out boot pointing down, and the knob right side up, slip over the shift knob from the bottom of the knob. Secure the top of the boot to the bottom of the knob with a zip tie. Turn the boot outside out.
