Does anyone have an idea what the oem Toyota cover is?
I’m assuming I’ll have to remove the bed rail drop brackets and reinstall the rail at the top.

Just getting prepared for when the Diamondback is ready.

If anyone has the factory bed rails and the Diamondback, could you please post some pictures.

    Thanks,

You don’t use the rails to install the diamondback- the middle panel clamps underneath the bedside. You will reinstall the bed rails at their normal position

Why would Diamondback ask if I had bed rails if they don’t use them? Can you post a picture if you have one? I’m assuming I can reuse the fasteners to install the rail in the original position

I’m not Shawn but I had a crossbin on my tundra with the HD cover and it was great.

Love it - bought it used in Facebook marketplace for $200. The cost of diamondback products has significantly increased over the last year / q18 months. And the shipping costs are a lot. Had to wait like three months for one to pop up locally but I much prefer it over the bins I had in the back. I got the crossbin 13 and am glad - not sure the 9 would have been a useful for me

I bought the HD Smooth cover from the Great American Outdoor Show earlier this month. They had a spot at the show with some trucks with covers and accessories. They took $400 off the cover and included free installation or shipping. Since I live about 2.5 hours away and they said I could also get a factory tour, I decided why not let them install it. Total savings with tax was about $477, but I’ll spend $80 in fuel.
I haven’t decided on the cross bin yet. I’ve seen some local but they aren’t for the Tundras. Curious if one from another truck would fit.

I thought I saw that too but then I saw it may be an Extang. It’s not a bad cover but the Diamondback should last the lifetime of the truck.

I have the OEM cover. It was branded with "Toyota" when I picked it up from the dealer (that sticker came off easily...) Nothing on the product that I was able to find which tells me who actually made it. FWIW, I have found it to be very well made, and I have had no problems with it yet.

It does appear to be well made for the most part. I have some fasteners that are starting to rust and it does a decent job keeping the water out. I don’t think it would last the lifetime of the truck and not sure where to get replacement parts if they are available, which is one of the main reasons I’m buying the DB cover.
