    Hello all,

New to the forum but have found a lot of helpful info on here over the years but its time to post!

I am located in South Central Texas in between San Antonio and Austin. Do some off roading in Big Bend State park and various other trails. I have been very slowly modifying my Tundra over the last few years and its time to get some new wheels and tires.

Current setup: 2014 Magnetic grey SR5 4x4 Crewmax. Have Eibach pro suspension and got around a 2.5" lift on the front with the coil overs. JBA offroad UCAs (they were cheap) Have a Fabfours front bumper. Currently running 275/70r18 General Grabber ATX and American Outlaw wheels (not quite sure what the offset is).

So the question is: Will I have any fitment issues with Method 706 with a +35mm offset and a new tire size of 285/75r18? I was trying to go with a skinny 35" to avoid any possible issues. Also looking at 295/70r18. Thinking Toyo AT3 for either size

I don't have any front fender with my new bumper and I'm Fine heat gunning and molding the rear of the wheel well if needed.

Thank you! and I'm sorry for another will it fit post.

285/75/18 fits with the stock TRD OR/Pro +60 offset wheels (even without a lift)

295/70/R18 is very common on +25 18x9s with fender flare removal

a +35 is probably better than a +25, but still might get a little in the way compared to a stock +60

I'm sure someone in the 6112 wheel tire thread has your combination

thank you! Had no idea that would fit with a stock +60 wheel. What do you mean when you said that +35 might still get in the way?

a 295/70 on a +25 typically needs the fender stuff to fit but typically avoids a BMC like a full 35x12.50
a 285/75 is about 1/2" taller and 1/2" narrower, roughly. so being on a +35 might allow it to fit or it might not but I'd imagine the extra 10mm helps too. that 1/2" hurts and helps respectively to height and width

one way to find out. but i would bet there's one or two who have tried it...maybe

since you're looking at Toyo OC AT3, there's a 285/70 as well which should fit well I'd think

do you think I would run into any issues with the JBA off-road UCAs with either tire size?

Non-TRDPro owner here. Just put on the TRD pro suspension with 285/75R18 Toyo Open Country R/T Trail (34.84") with Method 312 18x9 +25 wheels. When aligning, had to bend the inner fender in the fronts (already had removed the little mini front flap) but that was it. Did not need to chop. This is a much heavier tire than my previous Falken AT3W (RIP) so I have seen a drop from 15.7MPG average to 13.5MPG average.

Right before the TRD suspension went on, drove from the tire shop to the lift shop while on my 6112/5160 suspension at setting #2. It drove straight fine BUT ANY TURN and that tire was rubbing.

Good to hear. Thank you. I’m already getting around 13.5 mpg with my 275/70r18s now I’m scared to see what mine might drop too!

I was coming from well worn 285/65R18 Falken AT3W with 90,000 miles on them. At 42psi, I loved driving on the highway getting up to 17MPG at times. But the SoCal storm a couple weeks back made me ditch the slicks and I wanted some meaty tires to play on fire roads and trails. The ATIII in 285/75R18 weight 68 pounds, so you're picking up 7-8 pounds on average in the 285/75R18 size. I went through a bunch of research and this size lives in the upper 12-low 14 mpg depending on the driver style and where you're driving.

Haven't done anything fun yet. Got 1 night with the new setup and then had to fly out for work for a week. Best so far has been my sloped driveway and at full lock is clearing everything. Still have more than a finger to the UCA.

Glad you got some new meaty goodness for these storms y’all are getting. We’re jealous in Texas. My ATXs now are 60lbs. Not sure what the weight of my wheels are but I’m sure I’m close to 80lbs already per tire. Might not see too big of a hit.

No mud flaps. No BMC needed. No bumper spacers. Heat gun and a tennis ball worked great but still rubbing somewhere at full lock. Lift is a Toytec 3/1.5 with SPC UCA’s.

stock 'skid' plate at full lock?

    any issues fully articulated?

i'd really like to run a Cooper AT3 XLT in 285/75 R18 when I get a set of SCS F5s...just don't see hardly anyone. lots of 275/70 and 295/70 or full 35s with chopping

    also, full size spare?

I do have the stock skid plate. I’m thinking that may be where it is rubbing. Articulation is good but stuffed with the 285/75/18. Spare is a slightly used 295/70/18.

I loved my 295/70/18’s but they just didn’t seem to fill the wheel well enough. They looked fine but just slightly small. I can post a picture with the 295/70/18’s too if needed.

The offset is +25 @mfelton18 . I did have slight rubbing with the 295/70/18 on the front finder liner but a heat gun and tennis ball took care of that. I have always had the Toytec 3/1-5 lift. May switch to some Kings in the near future.

Thanks. I think I will be alright with the +35 offset with either tire size.

No problem at all @mfelton18 . I think
you will have a lot less rubbing with the 295/70/18’s with a 2.5 inch lift and they would look great.

awesome. I ended up having to go with a +25 offset wheel. the others are not in production anymore. Hopefully will have similar results with the wheel tire combo
