I just purchased a set of Method MR316s in an 18x9 with a +18 offset and some General Grabber A/TXs in a 275/70/R18 from Tire Rack for my '23 Platinum that has no modifications done to it. I had them installed at a reputable local tire warehouse. When they got put on the ride was bumpy, took them back and had them rebalanced and Tire Warehouse said that Tire Rack messed up the balance. A couple of days go by and they are still a bumpy ride. I took my truck to the Toyota Dealership for a rebalance and an alignment. I've done the chalk test and thoroughly investigated the tires for any anomalies. I still have a bumpy ride and I'm almost at a loss as to what is causing it. I also run the tires at 32 PSI, they were put on at 36 PSI, as I live in New England. Has anyone had any of the same issues?

Did you purchase the E rated General Grabber A/TX tires? If so, that is probably the source of your bumpy ride. If you do have the E rated tires, you probably need to run higher tire pressure than 32 psi.

I just double checked and they are S rated.

When I switched from the 20" wheels/tires that came stock on my 1794 to Method 318's (+40mm offset) with Continental TerrainContact A/T 265/70-18 tires, the ride improved dramatically over the stock combination. I got my wheels/tires from TireRack mounted and balanced. Maybe one of your tires is out of round, not an unheard of issue.

Ill see if I can figure out if this is the problem. I googled it and feeling the vibration in my seat should indicate that one of the rear tires is out of round.

If the tire was out of round it would have surfaced in the 3 wheel balances. If it’s out of round on a balancing machine you would have to be blind not to notice it

Do these wheels you bought need spacers to center them? I put after markets on my daughters Venza and after 4 attempts to stop the horrid ride, they figured out it needed a spacer. ( I am not sure if spacer is the right word)

I’ve not seen a 275/70/18 available in a P or C rating. All E’s. It’s a combo of stiffer, less forgiving sidewall (a plus and in this case a minus) and the additional weight for which the shock and spring were not tuned for.

I did the math on the OEM wheels and tires, the new wheels and tires come in about 2lbs less than the OEM.

According to the TireRack website the General Grabber AT/X is available in a non E-rated version which is designated 116s

Probably worth verifying that the hubcentric rings that came with your Method wheels are in fact still there...

Factory platinum wheel and tire setup is around 74-75#, so your pretty much a wash there. Is it bumpy when you hit bumps? Or when your driving down a smooth road?

Well then, i am surprised these yield a bumpy ride.
I have same tire/size in E load rating, and its evident that they are stiff, but no different than any other E load rated tired. I do have Bilsteins 5100's to help cope with added unsprung weight.

The ol hub centric vs. lug centric. I had the same issue with my Methods, I had the tire shop torque them in the air and not on the ground. That seem to do the trick, haven't had an issue since.

And Lug nuts - Did you get the extended reach threads that burrow down inside the lug holes?

Yes I did and I make sure the lugs are torqued to proper spec. I think it might be the hub centric issue.

    ^^^ THIS ^^^

Exact same story with my Methods. Even with Method’s lug nuts and hubcentric rings, it was having the lug nuts torqued in the air that solved it for me.

Op do you have a pic? I’m going almost the same set-up (exact tires) but different wheels with a +20 offset. Curious on how it looks!!! My wheels are on the way now.

Make sure the shop didn't put balancing beads in them, that happened to me and for a year I couldn't figure out why the ride was rough sometimes and smooth others. Finally had the beads taken out and weights put on and it made the world of difference.

You said it vibrates? Could be the front diff drivers side needle bearing, bushing is installed to replace that.
