Fuel Pump ECU Connector Terminal Size

I am trying to source the correct terminals for the connector that clips onto the fuel pump ECU (part number #89571-34070) Toyota wants $20 a piece x 6. I would prefer to just buy the female terminals, but I am unsure how to measure them. The OEM female terminal part # is (8299812790). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

I will typically get things like that at the dealer for free as they keep a stash on hand for the mechanics. It also helps to be friends with folks there.
I also have a stash of switches/connectors I picked up from the wreckers over the years that would fit my LX450. Last year, some terminals corroded sufficiently to break on my factory amp on the LX and luckily the terminals matched those of one of the connectors I had.

 

I grabbed a box of random terminals from autozone hoping at least one of them fit. None did. So I stuck my calipers in the connector and tried to get a measurement. Looks like the Dorman Metripack 280 2.8mm will work. Hopefully…I’m finding that Toyota is the worst manufacturer for trying to get correct parts.

 

This Dorman IGN Coil connector cross references with the Toyota terminal Part Number you listed. Is this what you’re buying?

The terminals are what I need. Those may be the right size, but the connector itself is different.

 

Yeah. Interesting that part number shows up as a single “repair” terminal and as a Toyota ign coil connector. Cannot believe how much Toyota is charging for the repair terminal. A place I sometimes order parts from here in Canada is charging CAN$37! That is absolutely insane!

 

So if I would have bought OEM it would have cost me around US$128.50 just for 6 tiny female terminals that have a few inches of wire attached to each. They turned out to be 2.5mm if you ever need to buy aftermarket.
