Well done. Ever considering selling them? Or posting a how to?

Thanks. Definitely wouldn’t sell them. I should have posted a how to but it only took me 30 minutes or so.

These are the emblems you want to get. The length, height and thickness is damn near flush with the TRD.

TRD Grille Decor Badge, Tri-Color Grille Badge Emblem Decoration Accessories Car Truck Label Fit for Tacoma 4Runner Tundra Sequoia Rav4 Highlander (Grey) https://a.co/d/gf6hBx0

I used my soldering pen and melted the tabs that are holding the “pro” on. Just push through from the back into the lettering a little and then you can take some needle nose pliers and pop them off.

From there you taped the emblem and the mount it comes with. This step is crucial because I’m horrible at math and measuring. I put small and I mean small double sided tape on the mount so that when I line it up on the molding the emblem pops off. I attached the mount to the molding with scotch tape so that when I pop it off, the mount stays on the molding so i knew where to drill.

From there start a pilot hole and work up to a 1/2 inch drill bit. That’s it. Place a small strip of double sided tape on the back of the emblem and the mounting holes will sit flush with the molding. I used some silicone to plug the holes on the back side etc. I didn’t want to bolt the emblem on because this way I can swap them
out for any of the other color options they have.

Do you have a pic of them mounted on the hood yet? Just ordered two and will give this a try.

Did you attach the tricolor emblem with anything, or just used double sided adhesive?

just drilled 1/2 holes so it would sit flush and used a 1/4 inch wide piece of 3m tape and pressed it on. I did use a little silicone on the back to seal around the holes to keep water out so that secured it a little extra. Been on for about a month now and holding strong.

Looks great. Definitely giving this a go on the wife’s Lunar Rock Sequoia.

The tri color emblems don’t have the “glass” look on Amazon like it does in your pic, might pic up the grey and the red sets and see which one looks best against the lunar rock.

Thanks for the quick pic on the truck.

Yeah they are more glass than what is on Amazon. They come with a protective film on them just be mindful of that to remove it. I bought a set of the red yellow orange ones also for when I want to switch them out. Just take your time drilling the 1/2 inch holes and making sure they are on point. No going back once you start.

I detailed above how I got the holes lined up. I can try and explain it better if you end up going that route or if you’re a measure once cut once person then you got it.

This is great I’m going to give it a try, thanks for the inspiration! I think I understand how to remove the Pro lettering and have ordered both the TRD parts and the Amazon tricolor badge (awesome find BTW!). Re the attaching of the entire package to the hood, did you drill into your hood or only use the double sided tape?

Just the tape. Plenty strong enough if you clean the area.

That looks awesome! Love the look. I'm a 2.5gen but do you think that these would fit on a 2.5 gen hood? The curvature seems almost exact, maybe the height looks a little different but I would think as long as the curve matches, they might work? I would definitely consider doing this mod on my Tundra if I knew for sure they'd mount flush to the hood. Here's a comparison of yours and mine... Whaddya think?Screenshot_20231217_061921_Chrome.jpg

Any 3rd gen in So Cal have one I can meet up that has one off their truck that I can just test fit?

hmmm the curvature looks the same it’s just raised more. I think it might be worth ordering. You don’t have ti stick them on to know if it’ll work. Just place them and you’ll know right away. If they don’t send them back.

Lmao, haven't read this thread for some time and now thinking about adding the hood badges to my Platinum OR.. However, this hood scoop might be a better option and you could even mount a Nav screen inside that thing! Oh the possibilities! Lol

Where did you get the Off Road letters from? Were they seperate letters or did you remove them from something else? Thank You

I couldn’t find OPs Offroad letters used on ebay either. Closest letters I’ve found so far that might possibly work are below. @ToyoTundra89 if you see this pls post your link, the letters you found are really good! Cheers! https://www.ebay.com/itm/1534356131...asf1swbREO&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Letters could also be taken from something like this, seems like OP also took letters off a background https://www.ebay.com/itm/1761828050...asf1swbREO&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I think I’m going to try this one, multiple color options https://www.ebay.com/itm/3351527068...ar=544390682761&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Thank You for the info, I thought that might be how it was done, just wondering how hard it is to remove those Off Road letters off or if they are as easy as taking off of the hood scoops as mentioned. Thank You

I’m also very curious! I don’t yet have any of these items (except one hood scoop, waiting for the other to arrive). If you give one a try pls LMK! I’ll do the same if I make my attempt first.

Very easy, used a Ryobi Dremel to lightly drill out the PRO and removed the raised nut section on the emblem. Secured with double sided 3m tape. 10mins tops for everything

Do you have to drill holes in the hood or will the 3M adhesive that comes on them work just as well? As long as the area is cleaned well. Thank You

Got my Pro Hood parts yesterday. Really like the look. Almost tempted to just put the Pro on my Offroad. I like the red pop on the green. I do think an Offroad will be better, did we ever learn the link to the red Offroad lettering that will fit this?

I’m hesitant to drill out the Pro lettering, I don’t want to mess up the digicamo. Also, it’s not 100% clear to me the exact spot on the hood where this will attach, there is some room for adjustment. Is the dual sided tape on the part sufficient to keep it on permanently? I removed all the included bolts and snaps it came with. Thanks all I like this mod but want to do it right! Cheers!!

PS I didn’t attach to my hood yet, it’s just placed on there without adhesive for the pic
