Mirror - Dash Cam Power Connector / Spliter / Adapter

I plan to install one of these splitters/adapter on my mirror connector which will allow me to power my dash cam from the mirror. I am thinking from the USB-A female to use a USB Y splitter and power 2 devices from the mirror, instead one, power my dash cam but also my radar detector. Am I pushing it? Has it been done? Am I going to blow the fuse? And which fuse will that be?

This will allow me to do a very clean install for my dash cam and radar around the review mirror with very nice and clean wiring around it.

I actually just replied to an old thread in the Pro forum (despite having a platinum) for the same topic. I planned on getting the Donger version and would need to tap in RJ11 power, but same Q on overloading things.

Looks like your research is much more advanced than mine and is not just a simple plug and play I guess I will just have to trial and error and let you know how I am progressing

@JohnWhicker did you ever do you install with the TGP adapter? I'm about to do the same and wanted to see if it was plug & play or if there were issues?

 

Sorry, I never responded to this thread. Is plug and play and works perfect with my dashcam. I wish they had a black color to blend in with everything else as the white sticks out but it is what it is now. I may take it out and paint one of these days.

Dongar adaptor from Amazon twice. Instead of getting the 12 pin type A I ordered, I got a 16 pin type A both times. I ended up ordering a
