I have a 2015 SR5. My drivers turn signal bulb blew out, simply replaced it. Now I have no turn signals in front when I turn on the headlights or parking lights. With them off, they work and the DRLs are on. They are getting extremely hot though, to the point I had them hanging out and they melted the outside of the headlight assembly. Anyone got any ideas? I checked voltage and with just blinker and DRLS on, it’s reading 12 volts intermittently on red wire. With the headlights/ parking lights on, 12volts intermittently from the red and constant 12 volts on purple wire. This causes the longest filament to solely constant burn with no flashing. With light fitting in, it’s reading 12 volts on the entire back side of the plug, which I thought would be the ground side, as it contacts both connections on bulb. It is also causing all the parking/ tag lights to blink. Need help!

Check the wiring, maybe a rodent ate it and it's causing a short.

Been all over it, can’t find damage anywhere. Really doesn’t sit long enough for anything to chew on it

Are you using an OEM bulb or something else? Things to check: the bulb(s) is completed seated, the socket has not overheated and melted to the point it might short/is shorting.

Yes they are oem and seated completely, even purchased new sockets as old ones were discolored. If the bulbs are unplugged, light go back to normal operation. Except for hyper flashing on turns.

I may be having a related issue. My drivers side blinker light burned out. I checked it and the socket looked ok but the bulb looked overheated. I put in a new bulb and it lasted one day before burning out. I'm wondering if there is a relay in there that would be the culprit. Would it melt if both filaments are on at once?

it sounds very similar to my problem, mechanic thinks it may be in fuse block on mine. Waiting for time to get in the shop to see.

Check the 7-way trailer plug at the back for corrosion. Unplug it at the connector under the truck and see if the problem goes away. Corrosion in the connector can cause back feeding to other circuits.

The purple (violet) wire 'pin 1' is the parking light.

    upload_2024-2-2_0-1-2.png

The red wire 'pin3' is the DRL/turn signal
Pin 2, white with black stripe should be ground.

What bulb did you use to replace the problem bulb?
    These trucks need specific bulbs.

    upload_2024-2-2_0-37-38.png

The Gen 2.5 used to take 3157CK bulbs and they are different from a standard 3157.
The CK are wired differently and I think that might be your issue.

    3157CK or 4157NAK? | Toyota Tundra Discussion Forum (tundratalk.net)

    So try a 3157CK or 4157NAK.
You'll probably have to order it online..

Amazon.com: Toyota Genuine Bulb For Front Turn Signal Lamp : Automotive

Or find a compaitable 3157CK LED..

    Good luck...
