A colleague has this 1st gen that had a bad transmission and is entertaining selling. Not so familiar with this platform, i have a second gen. Here is what i know: its a 4x4 with about 290k miles, v8, auto, newish suspension been sitting for about a year. I inquired price and they are looking to get what they recently put into it for ~2k but would consider offers. Thought it could be a cool prerunner build but dont know how much it would cost to fix. Any thoughts?

    lots of dents
Close to 300k on the truck, swiss cheese sheetmetal, and a blown transmission. Hard pass at $2k.

I’m guessing recently might be the suspension work mentioned after what appears to have been a drivers LBJ failure that took out the fender?

I wouldn't even give it away free. That thing's frame is probably Swiss cheese, and it's a death wish for anyone driving it. I wouldn't want that potential lawsuit hanging over my head. If I was selling it, I'd be selling it clearly marked "AS-IS, PARTS ONLY" and making the buyer sign a legal disclaimer, with witness signature, saying the buyer understands this truck won't be driven as-purchased, as it is clearly understood it's not safe to drive. These days you gotta CYOA on everything because people are absolutely f'ing stupid.
