Dome Light Won't Come with the Doors

Hello All,
First post, great forum. Lots of info and helpful people.

So, my son bought his first vehicle, 2015 Tundra, work truck.
So far we've cleaned it, TRD wheels, 33's, idler and tensioner, leveling kit, tint, AVS', interior carpet and a tonneau cover. Remote start keyless next week. It was a good Christmas for him.

More to come down the road......

The most important item to tackle right now is the dome light. It will not come on with the doors opening. I've verified the light control switch, fuses and have independent door triggers at the BCM, light control switch and the lights function with the control switch.

The truck came with an aftermarket Kenwood DVD player and is interfaced with a PAC Radio Pro RP$.2-TY11 module.
It is my understanding the OEM radio can set parameters for options in the truck, one of them being the dome light operation. I'm thinking the dome light was turned off before the radio swap and now there's no way to turn it back on without additional coin being spent.

The options I've come up with so far that might work are:
1. Maestro RR2 $209.00 plus the harness $80.00 / which might work
2. Techstream + the $90 interface / which might work
3. $170.00 an hour for a Toyota dealer to try and make it work
4. Buy $300 takeout radio and see if I can get the dome light to come on
5. ???????????????

Would any of you have any other insight that might not cost two or three hundred?

I bought Carista and a month subscription, $30.
The interior lights were confirmed to be disabled.
One touch of the app and my kids truck now has door active interior lights with a 30 exit delay.

Welcome to the forum.
The dome light on/off/door is the dash switch.
The HU only might have a setting for how long it stays on.

The light itself has independent on/off switches as well.

 

Welcome! I had the same issue in my 2016 and I had accidentally turned off the feature within the head unit setting. Was like that for almost a year until I stumbled across it and it fixed the interior light issue. Find a downloadable techstream and get a cord off eBay or Amazon for cheap. I think this one would work

Av8tor, thank you for the confirmation on the settings thru the radio.

Seeing how the household has two Lexus and a Tundra, Techstream makes the most sense.
I should have had that up and running a couple years ago.
