The factory amp belongs in the garbage. It puts out like 20 watts of junk signal.

You need a real amp. Anyone telling you otherwise is wasting your time/money. You can get a 5 channel amp to send power everywhere or a mono channel to just run the sub - but you’ll want hundreds of watts RMS to a sub.

Okay. How hard is it to replace the factory amp with an aftermarket amp

Read those first two threads I linked. You’ll need to decide if you’re going to do a LOC or change the head unit.

Well I’m keeping my head unit. For one but two I can’t make sense of anything I read on those two threads

    Alot of them
The head unit is junk honestly. If you're not heavy into audio then it's no big deal. But since you are wanting to put in a sub, the door and dash speakers are going to sound horrible, especially if they remain stock. You will need an LOC as mentioned if you are dead set on keeping the stock head unit.
